Senja
or is an island in Senja Municipality in Troms county, Norway in northern Europe. With an area of , it is the second largest island in Norway (outside of the Svalbard archipelago). It has a wild, mountainous outer (western) side facing the Atlantic, and a mild and lush inner (eastern) side. The island is located entirely within Senja Municipality, which was established on 1 January 2020. The island of Senja had 7,864 inhabitants as of 1 January 2017. Most of the residents live along the eastern coast of the island, with Silsand being the largest urban area on the island. Senja is a municipality in Troms county, Norway. It was established on 1 January 2020 when the municipalities of Berg, Lenvik, Torsken, and Tranøy were merged into one municipality. It is located in the traditional district of Hålogaland. The administrative centre of the municipality is the town of Finnsnes. Lenvik Municipality
Lenvik () is a former municipality in Troms county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1838 until its dissolution in 2020. The municipality was partly situated on the mainland and partly on the island of Senja in what is now Senja Municipality. The administrative centre was the town of Finnsnes, where the Gisund Bridge connects Senja to the mainland on Norwegian County Road 86. Ã…nderdalen National Park
Ã…nderdalen National Park () is located on the large island of Senja in Troms county, Norway. The park lies within Senja Municipality. The park was established by royal decree on 6 February 1970 and it was enlarged in 2004. The national park preserves this Northern Norwegian coastal landscape. The bedrock consists of hard granite rocks and the landscape image gives exciting impressions of the glacial forces that have worked on Senja. The coastal pine forest in Ã…nderdalen has in some areas primeval forest with over 600 years old trees and countless marble pines and lower. Solbergfjorden
Solbergfjorden is a fjord (or more accurately, a strait) on the southeastern side of the large island of Senja in Troms county, Norway. The fjord flows through Dyrøy Municipality, Sørreisa Municipality, and Senja Municipality. The long strait flows into the Vågsfjorden to the southwest and into the Finnfjorden and Reisafjorden in the northeast. Silsand
or is a village in Senja Municipality in Troms county, Norway. It is located on the eastern shore of the large Senja (island), island of Senja. The village has a population (2023) of 1,638 and a population density of . Silsand is now considered a suburb of the neighboring List of towns and cities in Norway, town of Finnsnes, which is located across the Gisundet strait on the mainland. Before the construction of the Gisund Bridge, Silsand consisted of just a few houses. Malangen (fjord)
or (also: ; ) is a fjord in Troms county, Norway. The long fjord runs through the municipalities of Balsfjord, Målselv, Senja, and Tromsø. The fjord runs southeast between the islands of Senja and Kvaløya and further into the mainland along the border between Balsfjord and Senja municipalities. The fjord stretches from Hekkingen Lighthouse off the coast of the island of Senja to the village of Nordfjordbotn. In the inner part of the fjord, it branches out into four smaller fjords: Nordfjorden, Aursfjorden, Målselvfjorden, and Rossfjorden. The Målselva river feeds into the Målselvfjorden.
