The d'Orsi Senior Bowl, or Senior Bowl or d'Orsi Bowl, is a biennial world championship contract bridge tournament for national of "Seniors", players age 60 and older. Dan Franklin Morse (March 10, 1935 – September 26, 2024) was an American archaeologist specializing in the prehistory of the midwestern United States and the central Mississippi Valley, research summarized in a number of books, monographs, and technical articles. He is best known for his 1983 synthesis of the "Archaeology of the Central Mississippi Valley" with Phyllis A. Morse, and for his 1997 volume issued by the Smithsonian Institution Press on "Sloan: A Paleoindian Dalton Cemetery in Arkansas." The Sloan site is the location of the oldest marked cemetery found to date in the Americas. He conducted excavations on a great many other significant archaeological sites during his career, including at Brand, Cahokia, Nodena, Parkin, and Zebree. Peter Weichsel
Peter M. Weichsel (born 1943) is an American professional bridge player from Encinitas, California. College and war years Early Weichsel started playing bridge at home with his family, but did not get hooked until 1963 when he was a student at Queens College, New York. He dropped out of college and became a Life Master in 1964. His bridge career was interrupted by the Vietnam War. He served two years duty in the Navy as a winch driver aboard the , responsible for moving large bombs out of the hold. After discharge, he lived in San Francisco in a fleabag hotel and became an "active member" of the counterculture. He felt this was a transforming experience and to the present describes himself as a reformed hippie. Lew Stansby
Lew Stansby (August 17, 1940 – May 24, 2024) was an American bridge player from Dublin, California. At the time of his death Lew, a former commodities trader, lived with wife and fellow national champion JoAnna Stansby. Since his first national win in the Reisinger in 1965, he won over 35 national championships and seven world championships, with a win in every decade since 1965. Lew's most successful partnership was with Chip Martel, whom he played with from 1977-2012 and with whom he won his world championships in the Bermuda Bowl, Rosenblum Teams, and World Open Pairs. Rose Meltzer is an American bridge player. After completion of 2014 tournaments she was the only woman among 84 living Open World Grand Masters and she ranked 58th among them by World Bridge Federation (WBF) open masterpoints. For the 1999 to 2007 cycles of world bridge competition, Meltzer led professional teams that won two major open world championships: the biennial Bermuda Bowl in 2001, representing the United States as USA2, and the quadrennial Rosenblum Cup in 2006. ( Kyle Larsen was her partner in both tournaments.)
