Senan Cooke
''Dr. Senan Cooke – hurler, author, champion social entrepreneur.'' Dr. Senan Cooke (born 1945) is an Irish retired hurler who played as a half-forward for the Kilkenny senior team. Cooke was born in Kilmacow, County Kilkenny and lives in Dunhill County Waterford. Whilst working Cooke studied part-time, completing Leaving Certificate, followed by Diplomas in Social Studies, Industrial Engineering and Accountancy & Finance. After DCU Masters in Education and Training (Leadership Strand) and a Doctorate by research on "The Challenge of Educational Disadvantage in a Knowledge Economy – Case Study on Waterford Crystal (1990–2006)” which was completed in 2006. http://doras.dcu.ie/17415/ He left Waterford Crystal and joined DCU as a full-time lecturer on Taught Doctorate Programme, until semi-retirement in 2010. Kilmacow GAA
Kilmacow GAA club is situated in the village of Kilmacow. The club has a hurling team which competes in the Junior Hurling Championship. They have won the Kilkenny Junior Hurling Championship once in 1956 when the club was known then as St.Senan's GAA. Kilmacow also have a Camogie club ranging from Under-8s to Juniors, they are amalgamated with Slieverue at Intermediate and Under-22 level and are named St.Claires Camogie club. In the early days of Kilkenny GAA, senior winning club teams represented the county team in the All-Ireland Senior Championships. Dunhill GAA
Dunhill GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Dunhill, County Waterford, Ireland. The club enters teams in both GAA codes each year, which includes two adult hurling teams and one adult Gaelic football team in the Waterford County Championships. The club has won the County Senior Hurling Championship twice, defeating Ballyduff Upper in 1978 and Mount Sion 1979, and the Senior Football Championship once, when it defeated Tramore in 1975. The club presently has no underage setup. Instead, a separate club called Dunhill/Fenor was created between Dunhill and other local club, Fenor. The underage clubs caters for all underage levels from under-12 to under-21. Kilmacow ( — otherwise known in Irish as ''Cill Mhic Bhúith'') is a small village and townland in County Kilkenny, Ireland. Geography Situated about 7 km (4 mi) south of Mullinavat and 8 km (5 mi) north from Waterford City, Kilmacow consists of an Upper and Lower Village approximately 1 km (0.6 mi) apart. The GAA Hurling All-Ireland Minor Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the Electric Ireland GAA Hurling All-Ireland Minor Championship) is an annual inter-county hurling competition organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). The Waterford Senior Hurling Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the JJ Kavanagh & Sons Senior Hurling Championship) is an annual hurling competition organised by the Waterford County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association since 1897 for the top hurling teams in the county of Waterford in Ireland.
