Selwyn (singer)
Selwyn (born Selwyn Pretorius, 1982, in Durban, South Africa) is an R&B singer from Perth, Western Australia. He was a contestant on the Australian reality series ''Popstars 2'', but did not make it through to the final group lineup. He was re-discovered while working at a shopping centre as a trolley boy. Producer Audius Mtawarira overheard him singing and offered to produce him. Career In August 2004, Selwyn released "Boomin'". It was written by Paul Rein for Selwyn's second studio album, '' One Way''. Australian singer Israel contributed to the production of the song, which according to Kathy McCabe of ''The Daily Telegraph'' is "beefed-up". Selwyn described it as a "different track" with a "different feel". It was promoted through the clothing store Jay Jays, where customers would receive a physical copy of the single after spending $40 at the store. Katie Underwood (born 23 December 1975) is an Australian singer-songwriter and meditation teacher. She is best known for being a member of Bardot, winners of the first Australian series of ''Popstars'' in 2000. Since departing the group in 2001, her solo career has included numerous vocal appearances on dance tracks such as the Disco Montego Top 10 single " Beautiful", and dance act T-Funk single "Be Together". Career Music In February 1999 in London, Underwood recorded a dance track with UK trance act Terra Ferma, releasing her first single "Don't Be Afraid" through Platipus Records in the UK. Disco Montego (earlier known as Kaylan) was an Australian Contemporary R&B, R&B and dance music trio. The Dowlut brothers Dennis and Darren, together with Tony Vass formed Kaylan in Melbourne in 1995. They released an R&B album ''No Commandments'' in 2000, which reached No. 23 in Australia and spawned three top 50 singles. In May 2001, they became the studio based group Disco Montego, and released further singles followed by ''Disco Montego (album), Disco Montego'' in September 2002. Their production work included remixing Mariah Carey's "Boy (I Need You)" in 2004. "Good Times" is a song by American R&B band Chic from their third album ''Risqué'' (1979). It ranks 68th on ''Rolling Stone''s list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time, and has become one of the most sampled tunes in music history, most notably in hip hop music.
