Lucious Selmon
Lucious Selmon (born March 15, 1951) is a collegiate and professional American football nose guard, and football coach. He began his coaching career in 1976 at his alma mater, the University of Oklahoma, and has also coached on professional teams. From 1995 to 2002, he was a coach for the Jacksonville Jaguars, and has also coached privately. Born in Eufaula, Oklahoma, he had younger brothers Dewey Selmon and Lee Roy Selmon. In one period, all three were playing as defensive linemen at University of Oklahoma. Each of them became professional football players, with varying length of careers. Early life He was one of nine children born to Lucious and Jessie Selmon, and was raised on a farm near Eufaula, Oklahoma. Dewey Willis Selmon (born November 19, 1953) is an American former professional football player who was a linebacker in the National Football League (NFL). Lee Roy Selmon
Lee Roy Selmon (October 20, 1954 – September 4, 2011) was an American professional football player who was a defensive end for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football as a defensive tackle at the University of Oklahoma, the youngest of three brothers to play football there. He was a consensus All-American in 1974 and 1975 and a member of consecutive national championship teams for the Oklahoma Sooners in 1974 and 1975. Selmon was selected by the expansion Buccaneers as the first overall pick in the 1976 NFL draft. He played in the NFL for nine seasons, from 1976 to 1984, all with the Buccaneers. Selmon joined the athletic department at the University of South Florida in 1993 and served as the school's athletic director from 2001 to 2004. Zac Selmon (born November 23, 1985) is the current athletic director for the Mississippi State University Bulldogs. Playing career Selmon was a tight end for the Wake Forest Demon Deacons football team from 2003 to 2007, starting four years after redshirting in 2003. Wake Forest won their second ACC championship in school history in 2006. Administrative career Selmon filled various assistant athletic positions at Oklahoma, and a brief stint at North Carolina before returning to Oklahoma, prior to his appointment as athletic director at Mississippi State. Kenneth Selmon (born August 27, 1996) is an American track and field athlete who specializes in the 400 metres hurdles. He won the USA Outdoor Championship in 2018 and represented his country at the 2018 Athletics World Cup in London, where he won the 400 metres hurdles. Early life Selmon attended high school at Pace Academy in Atlanta, GA. He was a 7-time GHSA state champion in track and field and 3-time all-american in the 400 metres hurdles. While in high school, Selmon placed third at the 2013 World Youth Championships in the 400mH and won the 2014 National Championship. The I-4/Selmon Expressway Connector (also known as the Crosstown Connector) is a controlled-access toll road between I-4, the Lee Roy Selmon Expressway (SR 618), and the Port of Tampa east of Ybor City in the city of Tampa, Florida. It primarily comprises four parallel one-way roadways west of 31st Street, continuously elevated over local streets, railroads, and vacant land, with a SunPass/toll-by-plate electronic toll gantry spanning the structure near the southern end. All movements were opened to traffic on January 6, 2014, and the direct connections to the Port of Tampa are signed as Truck Routes.
