Selin Şekerci (born 1 June 1989) is a Turkish actress. Life and career Selin Şekerci was born in İzmir on 1 June 1989. Her father is of Arabs in Turkey, Arab descent. Her mother is of Azerbaijanis in Turkey, Azerbaijani descent. She completed primary and secondary school education in İzmir. She participated in İzmir State Theater's plays. She played in private theaters and children's plays in İzmir. She graduated from Istanbul Bilgi University, the department of cinema-television. After coming to Istanbul, she played in many commercials. She had guest roles in Kavak Yelleri Turkish version of Dawson's Creek and hit surreal comedy Leyla ile Mecnun. After acting in popular youth series ''Melekler Korusun'' as Özgür, she became popular. She had a leading role in romantic comedy series ''Kaçak Gelinler'' and became known for her portrayal of the character Şebnem Gürsoy in the show. She has played in many TV series. ''Kraliçe'' (''Queen'') is the tenth studio album by Turkish singer Hande Yener. It was released on 12 December 2012 by Poll Production. It was Yener's first studio album since the 2011 release of ''Teşekkürler'' and included elements of pop music. All of the songs on the album were written by Sinan Akçıl, the third and last of Hande Yener's albums to have Akçıl as its sole songwriter. The album was produced by Polat Yağcı and Akçıl. ''Kraliçe'', which includes an introductory speech, eights songs and three remixes, was, in Hande Yener's opinion, an album that covered all of the music styles she had experimented with so far. Çoban Yıldızı (TV Series)
''Çoban Yıldızı'' is an instrumental Turkish melody composed by Melih Kibar in 1975. In 1975, Turkish Radio and Television Corporation, TRT, the Turkish Radio and Television Corporation ordered a jingle for the coming Eurovision Song contest national finals. (see Turkey in the Eurovision Song Contest 1975). Melih Kibar then working with Timur Selçuk composed the melody and named it Çoban Yıldızı. (In Turkish, ''Çoban Yıldızı'' means "shepherd's star" and it actually refers to the planet Venus). He submitted his composition to Timur Selçuk who arranged the melody and played it during the national contest. In an interview Melih Kibar said that during the first performance of the melody he was studying for his university finals. The melody quickly gained popularity; the Selçuk performance was popularly taken as that of a contestant on the show. The song being an instrumental prohibited it from contestant performance.
