Selenomonadales
The Selenomonadales are an order of bacteria within the class Negativicutes; unlike most other members of Bacillota, they are Gram-negative. The phylogeny of this order was initially determined by 16S rRNA comparisons. More recently, molecular markers in the form of conserved signature indels (CSIs) have been found specific for all Selenomonadales species. On the basis of these markers, the Selenomonadales are inclusive of two distinct families, and are no longer the sole order within the Negativicutes. Several CSIs have also been found specific for both families, Sporomusaceae and Selenomonadceae. Samples of bacterial strains within this order have been isolated from the root canals of healthy human teeth. Phylogeny The currently accepted taxonomy is based on the List of Prokaryotic names with Standing in Nomenclature (LPSN) and National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) See also * List of bacterial orders * List of bacteria genera This article lists the genera of t ...

Selenomonas
Members of the genus ''Selenomonas'' (motile crescent-shaped bacteria in general) are referred to trivially as selenomonads. The genus ''Selenomonas'' constitutes a group of motile crescent-shaped bacteria and includes species living in the gastrointestinal tracts of animals, in particular the ruminants. A number of smaller forms discovered with the light microscope are now in culture but many, especially the large selenomonads are not, owing to their fastidious and incompletely known growth requirements. Gram stain The family '' Veillonellaceae'' was transferred from the order ''Eubacteriales'' to the new order '' Selenomonadales'' in the new class '' Negativicutes''. Despite most of the members of the ''Bacillota'' staining positive for the Gram stain and being trivially called "low-GC Gram-positives" (''c.f.'' Bacterial phyla), members of the '' Negativicutes'' stain Gram-negative and possess a double bilayer. This transfer now appears to have been mistaken. On further exa ...

Dendrosporobacter
''Dendrosporobacter'' is a genus in the phylum Bacillota (Bacteria). Members of the class Negativicutes, stain gram negative, despite being firmicutes Etymology The name ''Dendrosporobacter'' derives from:Greek noun ''dendron'', tree; Greek noun ''spora (σπορά)'', a seed, and in biology a spore; New Latin noun, a rod '' bacter'', nominally meaning "a rod", but in effect meaning a bacterium, rod, staff; New Latin masculine gender noun ''Dendrosporobacter'', a spore-bearing rod from a tree. Species The genus contains a single species, namely '' D. quercicolus'' ( (Stankewich ''et al''. 1971) Strömpl ''et al''. 2000, (Type species of the genus).; Latin noun ''quercus'', oak; New Latin masculine gender adjective ''quercicolus'', intended to mean associated with oak trees).
