SelectFlorida
SelectFlorida, formerly Enterprise Florida, Inc., is a public–private partnership between Florida’s business and government leaders and was the principal economic development organization for the state of Florida. EFI’s mission was to expand and diversify the state’s economy through job creation. In pursuit of its mission, EFI worked closely with a statewide network of economic development partners and was funded both by the State of Florida and by private-sector businesses. Enterprise Florida did not disclose who its donors were. During the 2023 Florida legislative session, Speaker Paul Renner called for dissolution of the entity and instead diverted its funding to the Florida DEO. Paul Renner (politician)
Paul Marvin Renner (born March 21, 1967) is an American lawyer and politician who served as the Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives for the 2022–24 Florida Legislature. He was in office as a state representative from an April 2015 special election through November 2024, where he represented the 19th district, which includes Flagler County and parts of lower St. Johns County. History Renner was born in Atlanta, Georgia, and grew up in Florida. He attended Davidson College, where he graduated with his bachelor's degree in history in 1989. After graduation, he joined the United States Navy, serving as a Surface Warfare Officer, and provided combat operations support in the Gulf War. WGCU-FM (90.1 FM) is an National Public Radio-member station on Florida's Gulf Coast. Licensed to Fort Myers, it is owned by Florida Gulf Coast University with studios along FGCU Boulevard, on campus. WGCU also operates WMKO 91.7, a full-time simulcast station licensed to Marco Island to serve the Naples area. WGCU-FM is a Class C1 station.
