Selahattin Çetiner
Selahattin Çetiner (1 July 1922 – 4 June 2023) was a Turkish politician and retired lieutenant general in the Turkish Armed Forces. An independent, he served as Minister of the Interior from 1980 to 1983 following the 1980 Turkish coup d'état. Çetiner became ill at his home in the Koyunbaba neighborhood of Bodrum. He was taken to a private hospital in Bodrum, Muğla Province, where he died from organ failure on 4 June 2023 at the age of 100. Çetiner was survived by his wife, Meral, daughter, Ümit Dinçel, and son, Atıf Çetiner. Koyunbaba (or Seyit Ali) was a saint who lived in the city of Osmancık in Çorum Province, Turkey, in the 15th century. Zincirlikuyu Cemetery
The Zincirlikuyu Cemetery () is a modern burial ground in the European part of Istanbul, Turkey. It is administered by the Metropolitan Municipality. Many prominent figures from the world of politics, business, sports and arts rest here. The cemetery is located on the Büyükdere Avenue in Zincirlikuyu, Şişli district between Esentepe and Levent neighborhoods. It is Istanbul's first cemetery established in a contemporary structure. Planned in 1935, the burial place reached in the 1950s to its boundaries of today. It has an area of , which is full, excluding family graves. A mosque within the cemetery, built and donated by the Turkish entrepreneur İbrahim Bodur, was opened to service on 2 April 2004. The mosque is specially constructed for burial prayers, and has a capacity of 500 people. ''BirGün'' (''One Day'') is an Istanbul-based Turkish left-wing daily. The paper was founded in 2004 by a group of Turkish intellectuals. The most important point of the newspaper is that it is not owned by any parent company or conglomerate. Since its foundation, the newspaper had to face serious pressures from publishing trusts, mainly to affiliated with Doğan Media Group that owns the vast majority of the market. Whereas most of the newspapers in Turkey pay paper and publishing cost as installments, ''BirGün'' had to pay in cash. In order to afford the costs, the newspaper first launched a subscription campaign, then raised its price to 0.75 TL. The price was 1 TL in 2012 and 1,5 TL in Summer 2015 while also costs 40 kuruş (0,4 TL) on universities in Turkey.
