Rzeszów, officially known as Constituency no. 23, is a Polish parliamentary constituency in the Subcarpathian Voivodeship. It elects fifteen members of the Sejm. Sejm
The Sejm (), officially known as the Sejm of the Republic of Poland (), is the lower house of the bicameralism, bicameral parliament of Poland. The Sejm has been the highest governing body of the Third Polish Republic since the Polish People's Republic, transition of government in 1989. 2023 Polish Parliamentary Election
Parliamentary elections were held in Poland on 15 October 2023 to elect members of the Sejm and Senate of Poland, Senate. A 2023 Polish referendum, referendum containing four questions concerning economic and immigration policy of the government was held simultaneously. In the previous 2019 Polish parliamentary election, the ruling right-wing Law and Justice (Poland), Law and Justice Party (PiS) had held onto its majority in the Sejm with Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki forming Second Cabinet of Mateusz Morawiecki, a second government. The PiS sought to win a third term which would be unprecedented in Polish history. The opposition, including the Civic Platform, Civic Platform Party and others, secured a Senate majority. Krzysztof Sobolewski
Krzysztof Sobolewski (born 20 September 1978 in Radymno) is a Polish politician and former local government official who was the chair of the Executive Committee of Law and Justice (PiS) from 2018 to 2021. In 2021 he became General Secretary of PiS and retained this position until October 2023 when he resigned in aftermath of PiS' loss of 2023 election. He holds a degree in administration from the Faculty of Law and Administration of Maria Curie-Skłodowska University. Having joined Law and Justice in 2003, he initially worked for Marek Kuchciński in Przemyśl. From 2005 to 2007 he was employed in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship Office in Rzeszów. From 2014 to 2018, Sobolewski sat on the council of the central borough of the City of Warsaw. Ewa Maria Leniart (born 27 August 1976) is a Polish politician. She was elected to the Sejm (9th term) representing the constituency of Rzeszów. Biography She graduated from the Second General Secondary School in Rzeszów. In the years 1995–2000 she studied at the Faculty of Law of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University Branch in Rzeszów, obtaining a professional master's degree in this field. During her studies, she was involved in providing legal advice as part of the student office. Zbigniew Ziobro
Zbigniew Tadeusz Ziobro (; born 18 August 1970) is a Polish politician. He served as the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Poland in the Cabinet of Mateusz Morawiecki until 27 November 2023. He previously served in the same role from October 2005 to November 2007, simultaneously serving as the Public Prosecutor General. He was elected to the Sejm on 25 September 2005 in the 13th Kraków district, running on the Law and Justice party list. The list of constituencies for the Senate of the Republic of Poland provides an overview of the distribution and numbering of the constituencies ( Polish: ''Okręgi wyborcze'') for the election to the Senate of the Republic of Poland since 2011.
