The Sejm (), officially known as the Sejm of the Republic of Poland (), is the lower house of the bicameralism, bicameral parliament of Poland. Tomasz Siemoniak ( born 2 July 1967) is a Polish politician of the Civic Platform (PO) who is serving as Ministry of the Interior and Administration in the government of Donald Tusk since 2024. he also served as Minister of National Defence in the governments of Prime Ministers Donald Tusk and Ewa Kopacz from 2 August 2011 to 16 November 2015 and Deputy Prime Minister of Poland under Kopacz from 22 September 2014 to 16 November 2015. On 13 May 2024, he was nominated Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration. Early life and education Siemoniak was born on 2 July 1967. The Third Way (, TD) is a political alliance in Poland that was formed on 27 April 2023, before the 2023 parliamentary election. The coalition's aim is to provide an alternative to both Law and Justice and Civic Platform, the dominant political parties in Poland since the 2000s. The coalition was created by centrist Poland 2050 of Szymon Hołownia and the conservative Polish People's Party, which leads the centre-right Polish Coalition. Law and Justice ( , PiS) is a right-wing populist and national-conservative political party in Poland. The party is a member of European Conservatives and Reformists Group. Its chairman has been Jarosław Kaczyński since 18 January 2003. It was founded in 2001 by Jarosław and Lech Kaczyński as a direct successor of the Centre Agreement after it split from the Solidarity Electoral Action (AWS). The Civic Coalition (, KO) is a big tent political alliance currently ruling in Poland. The alliance was formed in 2018 around Civic Platform, in opposition to the then-ruling Law and Justice (PiS) party. History The Civic Coalition was originally created by the Civic Platform and Modern parties for 2018 local elections. In June 2019, it was announced that the Civic Coalition would be slated to participate in the 2019 Polish parliamentary election and Civic Platform and Modern would form a joint parliamentary club.
