Seifu On EBS
''Seifu on EBS'' is an Ethiopian late-night talk show airing each Sunday at 9:00 p.m. in Ethiopian Time on EBS TV. The hour and a half long show premiered on 24 October 2013, and is hosted by comedian and radio host Seifu Fantahun. Modeled after the traditional late-night talk shows of the U.S., the show incorporates the use of comedy bits, monologue jokes, musical guest performances as well as celebrity interviews. Episode format ''Seifu on EBS'' follows the already established six-piece late night format popularized by many late-night talk show hosts of United States. Ethiopian Broadcasting Service (EBS TV) is an Ethiopian Free-to-air, free to air television network. Launched in 2008, the network is based in Ethiopia with correspondents both in United States at its headquarters in Silver Spring, Maryland, Silver Spring, Maryland, United States, U.S. EBS TV broadcasts programs in mostly Amharic. Television In Ethiopia
Television in Ethiopia was introduced in 1962 with the government owned ETV (Ethiopia), ETV. Color television started in 1979 on an experiment basis with regular transmissions starting in 1984 to commemorate the founding of Workers' Party of Ethiopia (WPE). Ethiopia got its first private television Broadcasting, broadcaster in 2008 with EBS TV (Ethiopia), EBS TV, a US based satellite TV channel mostly focused on infotainment. Until very recently there was only one private station with most of the stations being state owned. However, emphasis on liberalization of the TV market eventually led to a wave of privately owned stations coming about recent years. Ethiopian Television Series
Ethiopians are the native inhabitants of Ethiopia, as well as the global diaspora of Ethiopia. Ethiopians constitute several component ethnic groups, many of which are closely related to ethnic groups in neighboring Eritrea and other parts of the Horn of Africa. The first documented use of the name "Ethiopia" from Greek name , was in the 4th century during the reign of Aksumite king Ezana. There were three ethnolinguistic groups in the Kingdom of Aksum; Semitic, Cushitic, and Nilo-Saharan (ancestors of the modern-day Kunama and Nara). The Kingdom of Aksum remained a geopolitically influential entity until the decline of its capital — also named Axum — beginning in the 7th century. Nevertheless, the core Aksumite civilization was preserved and continued into the successive Zagwe dynasty. By this time, new ethnic groups emerged – the Tigrayans and Amharas. During the Solomonic period, the latter established major political and cultural influence in the Horn of Africa. ...
