Heredad Segura Viudas is a Spanish winery in Torrelavit in the Penedès wine region of Barcelona specializing in Cava. Its origins have been traced back to the 11th century. Penedès (DO)
Penedès () is a natural and historical region of Catalonia. It is located in the south of the autonomous community of Catalonia, Spain between the pre-coastal mountain range (''Serralada Pre-litoral'') and the Mediterranean Sea. The comarcal division of the Generalitat de Catalunya in 1936 and 1987, divided Penedès into three administrative comarques: Alt Penedès, Baix Penedès and Garraf, and their capitals are Vilafranca del Penedès, el Vendrell and Vilanova i la Geltrú. Cava (, ; , ) is a sparkling wine of ''denominación de origen'' (DO) status from Spain. It may be White wine, white (''blanco'') or rosé (''rosado''). The Macabeo, Parellada and Xarel·lo are the most popular and traditional grape varieties for producing cava. Chardonnay and Malvasia are also permitted.
