Segrate ( lmo, label=Milanese, Segraa ) is a town and ''comune'' (municipality) located in the Metropolitan City of Milan in the Lombardy region of Northern Italy. An eastern suburb of Milan, in its area lies the airport of Milan Linate, the lake Idroscalo, the fair center of Novegro and the famous residential area Milano Due. Europark Idroscalo Milano (originally Lunapark Milano) is a popular amusement park that has been in existence since 1965. Although it is a small town, Segrate hosts large structures such as the CILEA Interuniversity Consortium, among the most advanced supercomputing centers in Europe, and the San Raffaele Hospital. Segrate received the honorary title of city with a presidential decree on 23 June 1989. Transportation Segrate is served by Segrate railway station, connected to Milan by the suburban lines S5 and S6, with a total of four trains each hour. Milano Due
Milano2 (also known as ''Milano Due'') is a residential centre in the Italy, Italian town of Segrate (Province of Milan). It was built as a new town by Edilnord, a company associated with Silvio Berlusconi in 1970's. The main peculiarity of Milano2 is its walkability: A system of walkways, cycle paths and bridges connects the whole neighborhood, so that it is possible to walk around without ever intersecting traffic. It was marketed as a residential neighborhood for families of the upper middle class with children. The works started in 1971, and were completed in 1979. Distinctive landmarks are the sporting facilities, a small artificial lake (''il laghetto'') and a children's and adults playgrounds and lots of green areas so you can also think to live inside a park. Milan Suburban Railway Service
The Milan S Lines constitute the commuter rail system serving the metropolitan area of Milan, Italy. The system comprises 11 lines serving 124 stations, for a total length of 403 km. There are 415 trains per day with a daily ridership of about 230,000. The core of the system is the Passante, an underground railway running through the city approximately from the north-west to the south-east. Several lines share this track, making the service in the city centre comparable to a metro line. The service timetable is based on a clock-face scheduling. Although operated by different companies, the Milan Metro and the suburban rail service have integrated tickets. Network Lines in darker background run through the Milan Passante railway. Europark Idroscalo Milano is an amusement park in Segrate, Italy, near Milan. Opened to the public for the first time in 1965 (as Lunapark Milano), the park is a popular stop on Via Rivoltana near Idroscalo Lake. Idroscalo
The Idroscalo is an artificial lake in Milan, Italy that was originally constructed as a seaplane airport. It opened on 28 October 1930, in the heyday of seaplanes. When the use of seaplanes for passenger transport declined it became a recreational and sport facility. The lake is long and was constructed in the late 1920s.
