Seestadt is a metro station on the U2 line of the Vienna U-Bahn, located in Seestadt Aspern in Donaustadt Donaustadt (; "Danube City") is the 22nd district of Vienna, Austria (). History The station opened on 5 October 2013 as part of the fourth phase of the Vienna U-Bahn#Fourth expansion phase (since 2010): Further extension of the Vienna U-Bahn, Vienna U-Bahn expansion from Aspernstraße station, Aspernstraße, becoming the eastern Train station#Terminus, terminus of the U2. It is one of two metro stations serving the Seestadt, alongside Aspern Nord station, Aspern Nord. Donaustadt (; "Danube City") is the 22nd district of Vienna, Austria (). Donaustadt is the easternmost district of Vienna.Statistik Austria, 2007, webpagestatistik.at-23450. Geography The Donaustadt district is situated in the northeast part of Vienna and is the largest of the districts by area, occupying about one-quarter of the Vienna city area, . It borders the 2nd District ( Leopoldstadt), the 11th District ( Simmering), and the 21st District ( Floridsdorf), as well as parts of Lower Austria. The district has a large part to the west of the Danube, Danube Island and Old Danube. In the east and north, Donaustadt shares the Marchfeld. Overall, about 59 percent of the district's territory is in green areas, making 30 percent of Vienna's green space lie in the 22nd District.
