Adolf Seel
Adolf Seel (1 March 1829–14 February 1907) was a German Painting, painter. He trained at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, Düsseldorf Academy of Arts and is associated with the Düsseldorf school of painting. Biography Seel visited the academy in Düsseldorf in 1844-50, where he trained under Wilhelm Sohn. He then continued to train one year in Paris, spent 1864 and 1865 in Italy, 1870 and 1871 Spain, Portugal and the north coast of Africa as well as 1873 and 1874 the Orient, where he developed his preference for the architectural painting found rich food. FV Big Valley
F/V ''Big Valley'' was a crab fishing vessel. The vessel capsized and sank on January 15, 2005, in the Bering Sea in an area west of Saint Paul Island, Alaska. Only one member of the crew survived of the six people on board. Sinking The vessel's Emergency position-indicating radiobeacon station (EPIRB) went off around 8:00am AST (UTC−9), at the beginning of the 2005 opilio crab hunting season. Three fishing vessels (F/V ''Cornelia Marie'', F/V ''Maverick'' and ''Sea Rover''), United States Coast Guard ship , the Alaska state patrol boat ''Stimson'', and a Coast Guard helicopter out of Saint Paul Island were involved in the search. The helicopter rescued the only crewmember to make it to the life raft. Two others, who were wearing survival suits like the survivor, were found deceased in the water. Charles Seel (April 29, 1897 – April 19, 1980) was an American actor. He acted in over 30 films from 1938 to 1974 and appeared in over one hundred titles for television from 1952 to 1974. Daniela Seel (born 4 December 1974) is a German poet, translator, editor and publisher. Life and work Born in Frankfurt, Seel studied German studies, art history and philosophy in Bayreuth, Göttingen and Berlin. In 2003, she founded the publishing house – Labor für Poesie als Lebensform ( – laboratory for poetry as a way of life) in collaboration with German book designer and illustrator Andreas Töpfer in Idstein. Meanwhile, is based in Berlin, where Daniela Seel lives. Besides her work as a publisher, she writes poetry and works as a book editor, translator and literary critic. Pierre Seel (16 August 1923 – 25 November 2005) was a gay Holocaust survivor who was conscripted into the German Army (1935–1945), German Army and the only French people, French person to have testified openly about his experience of deportation during World War II due to his homosexuality. Biography Pierre was the fifth and last son of an affluent Catholic Alsace, Alsatian family, and he was born at the family castle of Fillate in Haguenau. At the age of eleven, he discovered that his younger sister, Josephine (Fifine to him), was in fact his cousin, adopted by his father when her mother died. His father ran a successful patisserie-confiserie shop on Mulhouse's main street (at 46 rue du Sauvage). Steve Seel (born December 3, 1966) is an American radio host for Classical Minnesota Public Radio in the Twin Cities, Minnesota. He is also a musician who performs under the moniker Dismantlists. Seel began his radio career at WUSF in Tampa, Florida as a classical music DJ before moving to WNED-FM in Buffalo, NY where he hosted weekday afternoons and also created the experimental music program ''Present Tense''. Seel joined Minnesota Public Radio in 1999 originally as a host for the nationally syndicated classical service Classical 24, a joint production of MPR and Public Radio International. Wolfgang Seel (born 21 June 1948) is a German former footballer. He spent 12 seasons in the Bundesliga with 1. FC Kaiserslautern, Fortuna Düsseldorf and 1. FC Saarbrücken. He represented Germany 6 times, including a UEFA Euro 1976 qualifier against Bulgaria and 5 friendlies. In the 1979 DFB-Pokal Final, played on 23 June in Hanover against Hertha BSC, Seel scored the winning goal in Fortuna's 1–0 victory in the 116th minute. Seel intercepted a pass a Berlin defender had played back to his own goalkeeper, Norbert , swerved around the lunging goaltender and scored with just four minutes to play in extra time. Navajo National Monument
Navajo National Monument is a national monument located within the northwest portion of the Navajo Nation territory in northern Arizona, which was established to preserve three well-preserved cliff dwellings of the Ancestral Puebloan people: Keet Seel (Broken Pottery) (), Betatakin (Ledge House) (), and Inscription House (). The monument is high on the Shonto plateau, overlooking the Tsegi Canyon system, west of Kayenta, Arizona. It features a visitor center with a museum, three short self-guided trails, two small primitive campgrounds that are free to the public, and a picnic area. The Sandal Trail is an accessible self-guided roundtrip trail that ends at an overlook of the Betatakin ruins across the deep Betatakin Canyon.
