Sedigheh Vasmaghi
Sedigheh Vasmaghi ( fa, صدیقه وسمقی) is an Iranian lawyer, poet and reformist politician. From 1999 to 2003, she was a member of the City Council of Tehran and served as the first spokesperson of the council. She is described as a " post-Islamist activist and intellectual". In 2023, she addresses an open letter to the leader Ali Khameini where she affirms that the Quran does not justify the obligation to wear the ''hijab''. City Council Of Tehran
The Islamic City Council of Tehran ( fa, شورای اسلامی شهر تهران) is the directly elected council that presides over the city of Tehran, elects the mayor of Tehran in a mayor–council government system, and budgets of the Municipality of Tehran. The council is composed of twenty one members elected on a plurality-at-large voting basis for four-year terms. The chairman and the deputy chairman of the council are chosen by the council at the first regular meeting in odd-numbered years.
