Save Romania Union
The Save Romania Union (, USR) is a Liberalism, liberal List of political parties in Romania, political party in Romania. 2020 Romanian Local Elections
Local elections were held in Romania on 27 September 2020. Initially planned for June 2020, the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic led the Government of Romania to postpone the elections to a date no later than 31 December 2020, and extending all the terms of the local offices due to expire on 5 June 2020. The aforementioned decision was deemed unconstitutional, and, in the end, a law was passed that extended the terms of the local officials up to 30 November 2020, and allowed the elections to be called by the Parliament of Romania, Parliament, rather than by the Government, no later than that day. Văcărești Nature Park
Văcărești Nature Park (Romanian: ''Parcul Natural Văcărești'') is a nature park located in Sector 4 of Bucharest, Romania, containing the wetlands surrounding Lake Văcărești. History Having , the area where the park stands was part of a large swampy area on the outskirts of Bucharest. To its west was the area known as the "valley of weeping" that was the rubbish dump of interbellum Bucharest. Much of the swampy area surrounding the park was drained by Communist Romania, building a neighbourhood of apartment blocks, while the "valley of weeping" became Tineretului Park. President Nicolae Ceaușescu wanted to build a reservoir which was supposed to be filled from the Argeș River via the Mihăilești Lake. As such, a concrete dam was built to surround the lake. Carol I Park () is a public park in Bucharest, Romania, named after King Carol I of Romania. Văcărești, Bucharest
Văcărești () is a neighbourhood in south-eastern Bucharest, located near Dâmbovița (river), Dâmbovița River and the Văcărești Lake. Nearby neighbourhoods include Vitan, Bucharest, Vitan, Olteniței, and Berceni, Bucharest, Berceni. Originally a village, it was incorporated into Bucharest as it expanded. Its name is related to the Wallachian aristocratic Văcărescu family, with an etymology leading back to the Romanian , "cow-herder," and the suffix ''-ești''. The Monastery and quarter The Văcărești Monastery, built by Nicholas Mavrocordatos in 1716, was located on the Văcărești hill, nowadays near Piața Sudului. Tineretului is a small () neighborhood in south Bucharest, Romania in Sector 4, close to the city center, named after the nearby Tineretului Park. It is one of the preferred neighborhoods by people seeking to buy an apartment. This is due to the well established public transportation (two metro lines, bus and tram routes), two nearby parks; along with banks, commercial spaces and schools. In 2015 there were 17,981 people registered living in this area. History Prior to the 1960s, this area was mostly characterized by empty lands and a couple of slums, the most known of which is the Cocioc slum. Interest in the area begun in the 1960s when a new road that linked North Bucharest to the South was constructed under the name Magistrala Nord–Sud (North–South Axis), providing a direct route from Piața Unirii to Șerban Vodă Avenue.
