Secteur Ä
Secteur Ä was a 1990s French rap association based in Sarcelles, France and named after a sector in the region. This music collective was created by the Ministère AMER, and artist Kenzy became its producer-manager. The association was made up of artists mainly coming from Val-d'Oise region (Garges-lès-Gonesse, Sarcelles and Villiers-le-Bel). It was composed of the rappers Passi, Stomy Bugsy, Doc Gynéco, Ärsenik (Lino & Calbo), Nèg' Marrons (Jacky, Ben J and Djamatik), Hamed Daye, MC Janik and La Clinique. In 1998, they found great success with a series of gigs including a major appearance at Paris Olympia on 22–23 May 1998 on the 150th anniversary of the abolition of slavery. Ärsenik
Ärsenik is a rap group based in Villiers-le-Bel, France, founded in 1992, and made up of two brothers, Lino (Gaëlino M'Bani) and Calbo (Calboni M'Bani), whose family is originally from Congo. Career Ärsenik started as a band in mid 1990s. Until 1997, the group also included Tony Truand, a cousin. In 1998, now a duo, Ärsenik released their first album ''Quelques gouttes suffisent'' went double gold. A new album was planned for 2005, but the two brothers instead decided to concentrate on solo albums. Lino released ''Paradis Assassiné'' en 2005, which was the name of a solo song on the group's second album. Singuila
Bedaya Singuila N'Garo (born 19 September 1977 in Suresnes), better known by his stage name Singuila (), is a French singer of Congolese and Central African origins. Singuila means "thank you" in Sango, a main language spoken in Central African Republic. He released his debut album in late 2004 entitled ''On ne vit qu'une fois'' (literally "We only live once") produced by Secteur Ä, a famous French rap label. Singles from the album included "Aïcha" and "C'est Trop". After a successful launching, he gained popularity in French-speaking countries throughout Europe. He teamed up with the British R'n'B singer Jamelia in 2004, for a French version of her hit song Thank You, which had been successful in many European countries, including the United Kingdom and the Netherlands. Nubi (rapper)
The Nubi language (also called Ki-Nubi, ) is a Sudanese Arabic-based creole language spoken in Uganda around Bombo, and in Kenya around Kibera, by the Ugandan Nubians, many of whom are descendants of Emin Pasha's Sudanese soldiers who were settled there by the British colonial administration. The Olympia (; commonly known as L'Olympia or in the English-speaking world as Olympia Hall) is a concert venue in the 9th arrondissement of Paris, France, located at 28 Boulevard des Capucines, equally distancing Madeleine church and Opéra Garnier, north of Vendôme square. Bruno Beausir (; born May 10, 1974), known by his stage name Doc Gynéco (), is a French hip hop musician. His music is typically characterized as a ragga/ rap style, that has found its fan base in France. Early life, family and education Born in Clichy-sous-Bois, France on May 10, 1974, Beausir's mother was of Guadeloupean origin and his father white. In 1990, he moved with his family to Paris, to Porte de la Chapelle, a district to which he would often pay homage in his songs. Gilles Duarte (; born 21 May 1972), better known by his stage name Stomy Bugsy, is a French rapper and actor from Sarcelles, France. Passi
Passi () is a hip hop artist who became famous in the mid-1990s with the group Ministère AMER, which included himself, Doc Gyneco and Stomy Bugsy. He is most widely known, however, as a solo artist, as well as a participant in many other groups, such as Bisso Na Bisso and Dis l'heure 2 zouk. Biography Passi was born on 21 December 1972, in Brazzaville, Congo. In 1979, his family moved to Sarcelles, a suburb of Paris. He graduated from ''lycée'' and created the band '' Ministère AMER'' with Stomy Bugsy and Doc Gyneco, who he had gone to school with. The group's first album, ''Pourquoi tant de haine?'', was released in 1992, and Passi was forced to end his agronomy studies at the University of Paris (Nanterre) to be able to focus on music.
