Second Mamin Government
The Second Mamin Government (; ) was the 16th composition of the Government of Kazakhstan under the leadership of Prime Minister Askar Mamin. It was formed on 15 January 2021 following the 2021 legislative election, where Mamin, who has headed the government since February 2019, was re-appointed as PM by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. This also marked the first time that a government cabinet was formed in Kazakhstan as a result of the election due to a 2017 constitutional reform law, with his prime-ministrial nomination being supported by 78 deputies of the lower house Mäjilis. Asqar Mamin
Asqar Uzaqbaiuly Mamin (, ; born 23 October 1965) is a Kazakh politician and economist who served as the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan from 2019 to 2022, resigning due to pressure from the 2022 Kazakh unrest. He served as First Deputy Prime Minister from 9 September 2016 to 21 February 2019. Previously, he was the president of the Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, the national railway company of Kazakhstan. He also serves as the president of the Kazakhstan Ice Hockey Federation, a position he assumed in 2008. The prime minister of Kazakhstan is the head of government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the holder of its fourth highest office, after the president of Kazakhstan, the chairman of Senate, and the chairman of Majilis. Mukhtar Tileuberdi (2020-02-02)
A mukhtar (; ) is a village chief in the Levant: "an old institution that goes back to the time of the Ottoman rule". According to Amir S. Cheshin, Bill Hutman and Avi Melamed, the mukhtar "for centuries were the central figures". They "were not restricted to Muslim communities"; even "Christian and Jewish communities in the Arab world also had mukhtars." Mukhtars are headmen or clan elders. They traditionally linked villagers with the state bureaucracy. Some of the mukhtar’s duties included registering life events (births, marriages, etc.) and notarizing documents. Eraly Luqpanuly Togjanov (; born 13 May 1963) is a Kazakh politician, who's currently serving as an Advisor to the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan since May 2024.
