Ibrahim Mahlab
Ibrahim Roshdy Mahlab ( ar, إبراهيم رشدى محلب ; born 8 May 1949) is an Egyptian politician who was the Prime Minister of Egypt from 1 March 2014 until 19 September 2015. Previously he served as Minister of Housing. Career Mahlab was a member of the Policies Committee of the National Democratic Party prior to the 2011 Egyptian revolution. Following the 2013 Egyptian coup d'etat, Hazem el-Beblawi was made interim Prime Minister and Mahlab was appointed as Minister of Housing. Following the surprise resignation of el-Beblawi's government, Mahlab was tasked with forming an interim government. He said that his administration would "work together to restore security and safety to Egypt and crush terrorism in all corners of the country." He also vowed to rebuild the economy. The Ministry of Interior of Egypt is a part of the Cabinet of Egypt. It is responsible for law enforcement in Egypt. The Ministry of Interior directs the Central Security Forces, around 410,000 in 2012; the National Police, around 500,000; and the Egyptian Homeland security, around 200,000 strong. The Egyptian Border Guard Corps were organised in border guard regiments totaling approximately 25,000 members. They are a lightly armed paramilitary force, mostly Bedouins, responsible for border surveillance, general peacekeeping, drug interdiction, and prevention of smuggling. During the late 1980s, the force was equipped with remote sensors and night-vision binoculars. High-speed motorboats are also in service. Mahfouz Saber is an Egyptian politician and judge. He served as Minister of Justice in the Second and Third Mahlab Cabinet. He was in office from 17 June 2014 until he resigned on 11 May 2015. Biography Saber was Secretary-General of the High Election Committee for the Parliamentary elections of 2011–12. He also served as assistant minister of justice for judicial inspection. Before his appointment as Minister of Justice in the Second Mahlab Cabinet on 17 June 2014 Saber was head of the disciplinary department at Cairo Appeal Court. He resigned on 11 May 2015 after stating that judges needed to come from "a respectable milieu" and that the son of a trash collector "would get depressed and would not continue" as a judge. His remarks obtained criticism for being elitist.
