''The Outer Limits'' is an American television series that was broadcast on American Broadcasting Company, ABC from September 16, 1963, to January 16, 1965, at 7:30 PM Eastern Time on Mondays. It is often compared to ''The Twilight Zone (1959 TV series), The Twilight Zone'', but features a greater emphasis on science fiction (rather than stories of fantasy or the supernatural). It is an anthology series, anthology of self-contained episodes, sometimes with plot twists at their ends. ''Surfside 6'' is an ABC television series that aired from 1960 to 1962. The show centers on a Miami Beach detective agency set on a houseboat, and features Troy Donahue as Sandy Winfield II, Van Williams as Kenny Madison (a character recycled from '' Bourbon Street Beat''), and Lee Patterson as Dave Thorne. Diane McBain co-stars as socialite Daphne Dutton, whose yacht is berthed next to their houseboat. Merle "Mimsy" Farmer (born February 28, 1945) is an American former actress, artist and sculptor. Yale Summers (July 26, 1933 – May 6, 2012) was an American actor and producer, whose credits included the 1960s CBS television series, '' Daktari'', with Marshall Thompson. Summers was heavily involved with the Screen Actors Guild. He was a member of the SAG national board of directors for twenty-seven years and the national executive committee for eighteen years. Acting career Born in Manhattan, Summers made his acting debut in the 1961 film, ''Mad Dog Coll'', playing a small unbilled role. The remainder of his career was almost entirely occupied with television. A flying saucer, or flying disc, is a purported type of disc-shaped unidentified flying object (UFO). The term was coined in 1947 by the United States (US) news media for the objects pilot Kenneth Arnold UFO sighting, Kenneth Arnold claimed flew alongside his airplane above Washington (state), Washington State. Newspapers reported Arnold's story with speed estimates implausible for aircraft of the period.
