Second Captains
Second Captains is a production company founded by Ken Early, Simon Hick, Mark Horgan, Eoin McDevitt and Ciarán Murphy and based in Dublin, Ireland. The Second Captains Podcast was launched in March 2013 and quickly became the most-popular pod in Ireland, winning the iTunes podcast of the year in 2014. Focusing mainly on sport but also touching on comedy, politics and popular culture, the show has since been chosen as one of The Guardian’s 50 best podcasts and as one of the top ten British and Irish podcasts of all-time as part of iTunes Essentials list. In 2017, the company expanded its online shows and launched The Second Captains World Service, a podcast feed available only to members. The National Stadium () (often referred to as the National Boxing Stadium or the National Sporting Arena) in Dublin, Ireland, is a purpose-built boxing stadium built and operated by the Irish Athletic Boxing Association. Major General W. R. E. Murphy, Deputy Commissioner of the Garda Síochána (police) proposed building the stadium in early 1935 and started fundraising with his wife Mary Agnes Murphy. Paul Kimmage
Paul Kimmage (born 7 May 1962) is an Irish sports journalist and former amateur and professional road bicycle racer, who was road race champion of Ireland in 1981, and competed in the 1984 Olympic Games. He wrote for ''The Sunday Times'' newspaper and others, and published a number of books. Kimmage was born into a cycling family. His father, Christy, cycled with the Dublin Wheelers, and his brothers Raphael and Kevin were also active. Michael Cheika
Michael Cheika (born 4 March 1967) is an Australian professional rugby union and rugby league coach, and former rugby union player. He is head coach of Leicester Tigers in England's Premiership Rugby. Cheika was the coach of the Australia rugby union team from 2014 to 2019, and the national team between 2022 and the 2023 Rugby World Cup. In 2015, he received the World Rugby Coach of the Year award after leading Australia to the 2015 Rugby World Cup final.
