Knurów
Knurów (; ) is a city near Katowice in Silesia, southern Poland. Knurów is an outer city of the Metropolis GZM, a metropolis with a population of two million. Knurów is located in the Silesian Highlands, on the Bierawka River, a tributary of the Oder River. I liga (, ), currently named Betclic I liga due to its sponsorship by Betclic, is the men's second professional association football division of the Polish football league system, below the Ekstraklasa and above the II liga via promotion/relegation systems. The 2021 Polish Super Cup was the 31st Polish Super Cup, an annual Polish football match played between the reigning winners of the Ekstraklasa and Polish Cup. The Ekstraklasa champions Legia Warsaw faced Polish Cup winners Raków Częstochowa. Raków played their first ever Super Cup match, while Legia was playing to win their fifth Super Cup. The Polish Super Cup (, ) is an annually held match between the champions of the Ekstraklasa and the Polish Cup winners or, if the Ekstraklasa champions also win the Polish Cup, the Cup's runners-up. As of 2024, the Polish Super Cup has been played 34 times. The most successful club is Lech Poznań, who won 6 times. The most common participant has been Legia Warsaw, as they have played sixteen final games and lost their eight following finals between 2012 and 2021. Unlike the Polish Cup, there is no extra time played in the competition, therefore in case of a draw after regular time, the match goes straight into a penalty shoot-out. The 2021–22 Polish Cup was the 68th season of the annual Polish football knockout tournament. It began on 4 August 2021 with the first matches of the preliminary round and ended with the final on 2 May 2022 at Stadion Narodowy. The 2021–22 edition of the Polish Cup was sponsored by Fortuna, making the official name Fortuna Puchar Polski.
