Sebastian Mailat
Sebastian Árpád Mailat (born 12 December 1997) is a Romanian professional footballer who plays as a winger for Liga I club Botoșani. Mailat started out as a senior at his hometown side ACS Poli Timișoara in 2016, and moved to CFR Cluj the following year. He did not impose himself in Cluj-Napoca and was loaned out several times, before signing for Botoșani upon the expiration of his contract in 2022. Internationally, Mailat represented Romania at under-17, under-18 and under-19 levels. Asociația Fotbal Club Botoșani (), commonly known as FC Botoșani or simply Botoșani, is a Romanian professional football club based in the city of Botoșani, Botoșani County, that competes in the Liga I. The Supercupa României () is a Romanian football (soccer), football championship contested by the winners of the Liga I and the Cupa României. It is usually played at the Arena Națională in Bucharest. The competition started off in 1994 Supercupa României, 1994, with the first edition being won by FCSB, Steaua București. In 2010 Supercupa României, 2010, for the first time in its history, the Supercup was held even though CFR Cluj had been victorious in both the league and the cup in the previous season. U Craiova 1948 Club Sportiv, commonly known as Universitatea Craiova (), CS U Craiova, or simply U Craiova, is a Romanian professional football club based in Craiova, Dolj County. It competes in the Liga I, the top tier of the Romanian league system. Initially founded in 1948 as the football section of the ''CSU Craiova'' sports club, it was part of the club until 1991, when its birth in the league championship was taken by FC U Craiova following privatisation. The 2018 Supercupa României was the 20th edition of the Supercupa României, the annual super cup in Romania. The game was contested by the winners of the previous season's 2017–18 Liga I, Liga I and 2017–18 Cupa României, Cupa României competitions, CFR Cluj and CS Universitatea Craiova, Universitatea Craiova respectively. It was played at the Stadionul Ion Oblemenco, Ion Oblemenco Stadium in Craiova, on 14 July 2018. CFR Cluj claimed the trophy after defeating Universitatea Craiova 1–0, with Emmanuel Culio scoring the only goal of the game. 2017–18 Liga I
The 2017–18 Liga I (also known as Liga 1 Betano for sponsorship reasons) was the 100th season of the Liga I, the top professional league for Romanian association football clubs. The season began on 14 July 2017 and ended on 2 June 2018, being the third to take place since the play-off/play-out format has been introduced. Defending champions Viitorul Constanța came fourth. CFR Cluj became the new champions in the last fixture of the play-off, clinching their fourth league title after finishing one point above FCSB. Juventus București and Sepsi OSK entered as the promoted teams from the 2016–17 Liga II, but only the latter managed to avoid relegation. Asociația Club Sportiv Sepsi OSK Sfântu Gheorghe, commonly known as Sepsi OSK (), Sepsi Sfântu Gheorghe (), or simply Sepsi, is a Romanian professional Association football, football Club (organization), club based in Sfântu Gheorghe, Covasna County, that competes in the Liga II. Adrian Constantin Alexandru Păun (; born 1 April 1995) is a Romanian professional footballer who plays as a winger or attacking midfielder for Liga I club CFR Cluj. Păun spent most of his professional career at his boyhood club CFR Cluj, for which he made his debut in 2014 and appeared in over 230 league games. In 2022, he moved abroad for the first time by signing for Hapoel Be'er Sheva on an initial loan, and also played for Bnei Sakhnin, before returning to CFR Cluj two years later. In association football, a substitute is a player who is brought on to the pitch during a match in exchange for an existing player. Substitutions are generally made to replace a player who has become tired or injured, or who is performing poorly, or for tactical reasons (such as bringing a striker on in place of a defender). A player who has been substituted during a match takes no further part in the game, in games played under the standard International Football Association Board Laws of the Game. Substitutions were officially added to the Laws of the Game in 1958. Prior to this most games were played with no changes permitted at all, with occasional exceptions in cases of extreme injury or players not arriving to matches on time.
