Sean Taylor (author)
Sean Taylor is a British author of children's books. He was born in 1965 and grew up in Surrey, England, he taught in Zimbabwe before studying at Cambridge. He currently divides his time between the United Kingdom and Brazil, where his wife is from. Career Taylor has written more than 50 children's books. His best known picture books include ''Hoot Owl, Master of Disguise'' (illustrated by Jean Jullien), '' When a Monster is Born'' (illustrated by Nick Sharratt), ''A Brave Bear'' (illustrated by Emily Hughes), and ''Huck Runs Amuck!'' (illustrated by Peter H. Reynolds). He's co-authored three illustrated nature books with ecologist Alex Morss: ''Winter Sleep'', ''Busy Spring'' and ''Funny Bums, Freaky Beaks''. He's also written longer fiction, including ''A Waste of Good Paper'' - a novel for teenagers set in a Pupil Referral Unit , and a number of first reading books including the ''Purple Class'' series. Surrey
Surrey () is a ceremonial and non-metropolitan county in South East England, bordering Greater London to the south west. Andersen Press
Andersen Press is a British book publishing company. It was founded in 1976 by Klaus Flugge, and was named after Hans Christian Andersen "because it is easier to pronounce and spell than Flugge". Random House has a holding in the company and a strong association with Andersen. The first book on the list was ''Goldilocks and the Three Bears'' by the then newly discovered Tony Ross, who wrote the popular children's series '' Little Princess''. The Andersen list now consists of more than 1000 published titles, the majority of which are still in print. Andersen Press specialises in picture books and children’s fiction, and the authors it publishes include Melvin Burgess, Max Velthuijs, Ralph Steadman, Quentin Blake, Jeanne Willis and Emma Chichester Clark. Edel Rodriguez (born August 22, 1971 in Havana, Cuba) is a Cuban American artist, illustrator, and children's book author. Using a variety of materials, his work ranges from conceptual to portraiture and landscape. Socialist propaganda and western advertising, island culture, and contemporary city life, are all aspects of his life that inform his work. Early life and education Until the age of 9, Rodriguez lived in the Cuban countryside town of El Gabriel. In an interview conducted by Yuko Shimizu, Rodriguez described his earliest visual influences as military, revolutionary and nationalist imagery. In 1980, Rodriguez emigrated to the United States with his father, Cesareo Rodriguez, his mother, Coralia Rodriguez, and his sister Irma, as part of the thousands of Cubans who arrive in the Mariel boatlift.
