Sean Murphy (golfer)
Sean Patrick Murphy (born August 17, 1965) is an American professional golfer who has played on the PGA Tour and the Nationwide Tour. Amateur career Murphy was born in Des Moines, Iowa. His father got him started with golf at age 6. He was the New Mexico High School Champion in 1982 and 1984, and American Junior Golf Association Southwest Champion in 1983. He attended the University of New Mexico and was the Western Athletic Conference Player of the Year in 1988. Professional career Murphy turned professional in 1988. He was the first player to win on the Nike Tour (now the Web.com Tour) four times in one year. He shared the Web.com Tour record for most career victories at six with Kevin Johnson, Matt Gogel and Jason Gore, until Gore earned his seventh win in 2010. Murphy was the Nike Tour Player of the Year and money leader in 1993. Murphy has more than $1 million in career earnings. Tommy Moore (golfer)
Thomas Edward Moore (December 23, 1962 – May 24, 1998) was an American professional golfer. Moore was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. He had a decorated junior golf career, ranking #1 in the Junior Golf World Rankings in 1980 (Golf Digest). Moore played college golf at Oklahoma State where he was a teammate of Scott Verplank, Willie Wood, and Philip Walton. He won two events and was an All-American in 1982, 1983 and 1984 and helped his team win the NCAA Championship in 1983. He was also the program's 1st Academic All-American in 1984. Moore played on the PGA Tour in 1990, 1991, and 1994. His best finish was a T4th at the 1990 Buick Southern Open. Jim Carter (golfer)
Jim Laver Carter (born June 24, 1961) is an American professional golfer who plays on the Champions Tour. He has also played on the PGA Tour and the Nationwide Tour. Biography Carter was born in Spring Lake, North Carolina. As a high school senior, he led Mesa High's boys golf team to an Arizona state championship in 1979. He attended Arizona State University in Tempe and was a distinguished member of the golf team – a two-time first-team All-American and an All-Pac-10 conference selection, as well as the 1983 NCAA Champion (Arizona State University's first individual champion in men's golf). He also represented the U.S. Collegians at the USA vs. Japan Matches at Pebble Beach and was named Ambassador. Curt Byrum
Curt Allen Byrum (born December 28, 1958) is an American professional golfer who has played on the PGA Tour and the Nationwide Tour. He is the older brother of PGA Tour golfer Tom Byrum. Byrum was born and raised in Onida, South Dakota. He learned to play golf on a nine-hole course that he and brother Tom used to mow. He was an exceptionally talented athlete in high school in both football and basketball. Byrum attended the University of New Mexico and was a member of the golf team. He turned pro in 1982 and joined the PGA Tour in 1983. Byrum has spent time playing on the PGA Tour and the Nationwide Tour. Nike Utah Classic
The Utah Championship presented by Zions Bank is a professional golf tournament on the Korn Ferry Tour, played at Oakridge Country Club in Farmington, Utah. One of the original tournaments of the 1990 Ben Hogan Tour as the Utah Classic, the tournament has been played every year but two (1997, 1998). The first seven (1990–1996) were played in Provo at Riverside Country Club and the next sixteen (1999–2014) at Willow Creek in Sandy. Formerly played in early September, the tournament moved to late July in 2011 and to mid-July in 2012. It moved to Thanksgiving Point Golf Club in Lehi in 2015, a few miles north of Utah Lake and along the Jordan River. Doug Martin (golfer)
Doug Martin (born December 8, 1966) is an American professional golfer. Martin was born in Bluffton, Ohio. As an amateur, he won the 1984 U.S. Junior Amateur, was semi-finalist at 1988 U.S. Amateur, and played on the 1989 Walker Cup team. He played college golf at University of Oklahoma where he won three events and was a three-time All-American. He graduated and turned professional in 1989. The BMW Charity Pro-Am is a golf tournament on the Korn Ferry Tour. It is currently played at Thornblade Club (host course) in Greer, South Carolina and The Carolina Country Club in Spartanburg, South Carolina. From 1992 to 2000, the event was played at Verdae Greens Golf Club in Greenville. When the event changed to a pro-am format in 2001, it moved to The Cliffs in Travelers Rest, South Carolina, using the Valley and Keowee Vineyards courses. The Walnut Cove course was added in 2005. In 2008, the tournament shifted to three different courses: Thornblade Club, Carolina Country Club in Spartanburg, South Carolina and Bright's Creek Golf Club in Mill Spring, North Carolina. Tony Grimes (born April 8, 2002) is an American football cornerback who will play for the Michigan State Spartans. He had played for three seasons at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill before transferring to Texas A&M after the 2022 season.
