Sean Lennon
is a British-American musician, songwriter, and producer. He is the son of John Lennon and Yoko Ono, and half-brother to Julian Lennon. Over the course of his career, he has been a member of the bands Cibo Matto, the Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger, the Claypool Lennon Delirium and his parents' group Plastic Ono Band. He has released three solo albums: ''Into the Sun (Sean Lennon album), Into the Sun'' (1998), ''Friendly Fire (Sean Lennon album), Friendly Fire'' (2006), and Asterisms (2024). He has produced numerous albums for various artists, including Black Lips and the Plastic Ono Band. Murder Of John Lennon
On the evening of 8 December 1980, the English musician John Lennon, formerly of the Beatles, was shot and fatally wounded in the archway of the Dakota, his residence in New York City. The killer, Mark David Chapman, was an American Beatles fan who was envious and enraged by Lennon's lifestyle, alongside his 1966 comment that the Beatles were "more popular than Jesus". Chapman said he was inspired by the fictional character Holden Caulfield from J. D. Salinger's novel ''The Catcher in the Rye'', a "phony-killer" who loathes hypocrisy. Black Lips is an American garage rock band from Atlanta, Georgia, formed in 1999. History The band formed in Dunwoody, Georgia, after guitarist Cole Alexander and bassist Jared Swilley left the Renegades, and guitarist Ben Eberbaugh left the Reruns. ''Into the Sun'' is the debut studio album by musician Sean Lennon. It was released by the Beastie Boys' label Grand Royal (distributed by Capitol Records, a division of EMI which had been the longtime home of Sean's father John Lennon) on May 8, 1998, in Japan and on May 19, 1998, in the United States. Background ''Into the Sun'' was recorded during Lennon's time performing with Timo Ellis alongside Yuka Honda, who was Lennon's girlfriend at the time and also produced and performed on the album.
