Sean Fleming (gridiron Football)
Sean Fleming (born March 19, 1970) is a Canadian former professional football placekicker and punter. Fleming was selected sixth overall by the Canadian Football League (CFL)'s Edmonton Eskimos out of the University of Wyoming in the 1992 CFL draft. He attended Vancouver College when he was in high school. Fleming played sixteen seasons in the Canadian Football League, all with the Eskimos. He is a four-time CFL West Division All-Star (twice named CFL All-Star) and three-time Eskimos nominee for Most Outstanding Canadian. He has played in five Grey Cups, winning three, and was named the 81st Grey Cup The 81st Grey Cup was the 1993 Canadian Football League championship game played between the Edmonton Eskimos and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers at McMahon Stadium in Calgary, Alberta. Burnaby is a city in the Lower Mainland region of British Columbia, Canada. The 2004 CFL season is considered to be the 51st season in modern-day Canadian football, although it is officially the 47th Canadian Football League season. A punter in gridiron football is a special teams player who receives the snapped ball directly from the line of scrimmage and then punts (kicks) the football to the opposing team so as to limit any field position advantage. This generally happens on a fourth down in American football and a third down in Canadian football. Punters may also occasionally take part in fake punts in those same situations, when they throw or run the football to get a first down instead of punting.
