Seabourn Quest
MV ''Seabourn Quest'' is a luxury cruise ship in Seabourn Cruise Line. It was constructed by Italian shipbuilder T. Mariotti. The vessel entered service in June 2011. Design and construction T. Mariotti constructed the ship at their shipyard in Genoa, Italy. ''Seabourn Quest'' was built using same design as her preceding sister ships, the ''Seabourn Odyssey'' and ''Seabourn Sojourn''. They are among the smallest cruise ships in operation with any major cruise company. Together, the three sister ships tripled the passenger capacity of the cruise line. The ship's name was chosen through a competition inviting submissions from the public between September and December 2009. Ice class refers to a notation assigned by a classification society or a national authority to denote the additional level of strengthening as well as other arrangements that enable a ship to navigate through sea ice. ''Seabourn Sojourn'' is a luxury cruise ship operated by Seabourn Cruise Line. It is very similar to ''Seabourn Odyssey''. The ship was ordered for building in the shipyard of T. Mariotti S.p.A. in Genoa Italy. She is the flagship of Seabourn. Design The ''Seabourn Sojourn'' was ordered in November 2008. The ship has a length of 198 meters and a beam of 25.60 meters. MV ''Seabourn Odyssey'' is a cruise ship for Seabourn Cruise Line. The ship's keel was laid at the CIMAR Shipyard in on 15 July 2007. Its hull was the first one built at the brand new shipyard. In marine propulsion, a variable-pitch propeller is a type of propeller with blades that can be rotated around their long axis to change the blade pitch. Reversible propellers—those where the pitch can be set to negative values—can also create reverse thrust for braking or going backwards without the need to change the direction of shaft revolution. A controllable pitch propeller (CPP) can be efficient for the full range of rotational speeds and load conditions, since its pitch will be varied to absorb the maximum power that the engine is capable of producing.
