Lippert Pictures was an American film production and distribution company controlled by Robert L. Lippert. History Robert L. Lippert (1909–1976) was a successful exhibitor, owning a chain of movie theaters in California and Oregon. He was frustrated that the Hollywood studios concentrated on making big, expensive pictures that commanded premium rental fees. He felt there was a market for smaller, cheaper feature films intended for neighborhood theaters in smaller situations. He called his new production company Action Pictures, and his first film, '' Wildfire: The Story of a Horse'' (1945) was an outdoor adventure filmed in then-novel Cinecolor. Reception was encouraging enough for the ambitious Lippert to expand his operations. In 1946 he joined forces with independent producer Edward Finney to create Screen Guild Productions. Boris Morros (; January 1, 1891 – January 8, 1963) was an American Communist Party member, Soviet agent, and FBI double agent. Samuel Fuller
Samuel Michael Fuller (August 12, 1912 – October 30, 1997) was an American film director, screenwriter, novelist, journalist, and actor. He was known for directing low-budget genre movies with controversial themes, often made outside the conventional studio system. After work as a reporter and a pulp novelist, Fuller wrote his first screenplay for '' Hats Off'' in 1936, and made his directorial debut with the Western '' I Shot Jesse James'' (1949).
