Scouting or the Scout Movement is a youth social movement, movement which became popularly established in the first decade of the twentieth century. Girl Guides (or Girl Scouts in the United States and some other countries) are organisations within the Scout Movement originally and largely still for girls and women only. The Girl Guides began in 1910 with the formation of Girlguiding, The Girl Guides Association in the United Kingdom, following which, similar girl-only organisations were formed in other countries. Het Arubaanse Padvindsters Gilde
Het Arubaanse Padvindsters Gilde (APG, ''The Aruban Guild of Girl Guides'') is the national Guiding organization of Aruba. It serves 326 members (as of 2017). Founded in 1941, the girls-only organization became an associate member of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts in 1993 and a full member in 2017. Program sections The association is divided in four sections according to age: * Beyisimas - ages 5 to 7 - Pink shirt * Brownie - ages 7 to 11 - yellow shirt * Guide - ages 11 to 17 - light blue shirt * Pioneers - ages 17 to 21 The Girl Scout Motto is ''Wees Bereid'', ''Be Prepared'' in Papiamento and Dutch. World Association Of Girl Guides And Girl Scouts
The World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS ) is a global association that supports Girl Guides, female-oriented and female-only Guiding and Scouting organizations in 153 countries. It was established in the year 1928 in Parád, Hungary. The organization now has its headquarters located in London, United Kingdom. It is the counterpart of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM). WAGGGS is organized into five regions and operates five international Guiding centers. It holds full member status in the European Youth Forum (YFJ), which operates within the Council of Europe and the European Union. Mission WAGGGS aims to help girls and young women become responsible global citizens. Scouting Aruba
Scouting in Aruba shared a common history with the other Netherlands Antilles until the political separation of the island from the Netherlands. Scouting Aruba is a Full Member of the Interamerican Region of the World Organization of the Scout Movement. Scouting Aruba consists of 13 groups, divided into 3 districts. There is one Scout group for people with mental and physical limitations. Scouting Aruba has 456 members as of 2021. Scouts in Aruba participate in many Caribbean camps, often traveling by boat to camp on nearby islands with Scouts from neighboring countries. On 27 February 2016, the World Scout Committee recognized Scouting Aruba as the National Scout Organization of the Aruba and conferred it with Full WOSM Membership with voting rights. World Organization Of The Scout Movement
The World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM ) is the largest and, after the Order of World Scouts (formed in 1911), is the second-oldest international organization in the Scout Movement, having been established in 1922. It has 176 members. These members are national scout organizations that founded WOSM or have subsequently been recognised by WOSM, which collectively have around 43 million participants.
