Scotts Shipbuilding And Engineering Company
Scotts Shipbuilding and Engineering Company Limited, often referred to simply as Scotts, was a Scottish shipbuilding company based in Greenock on the River Clyde. In its time in Greenock, Scotts built over 1,250 ships. History John Scott founded the company in 1711. He built herring busses and small craft. He was succeeded by his son William Scott (1722–1769) and another son. In 1765 they built their first square-rigged vessel. Scott's is a seafood restaurant at 20 Mount Street, London, Mount Street, Mayfair, London. Originating as "Scott's oyster rooms" in Haymarket in the 1850s or earlier, it would become "Scott's Oyster and Supper Rooms" on Coventry Street in 1891, and moved to its present location in Mount Street in 1967. Scott's Food & Pharmacy was a supermarket chain in the Fort Wayne, Indiana, market. The company was once a wholly owned subsidiary of SuperValu, but was acquired by The Kroger Co. in 2007. At the time of its purchase by Kroger, the chain had 18 locations. By late 2014, that number had dwindled to one location as a result of stores being closed or rebranded under the Kroger banner. Scott's Porage Oats is a Scottish breakfast cereal (a brand of porridge) sold in the United Kingdom. The former Scott's Company was established in Glasgow by A&R Scott, two brothers who made a partnership to manufacture oat products. Scott's was purchased by Quaker Oats in 1982. History of the brand Porridge has been consumed in Scotland as a staple food since the Middle Ages, and is primarily consumed in the winter. Scotts Valley is a small city in Santa Cruz County, California, United States, about south of downtown San Jose and north of the city of Santa Cruz, in the upland slope of the Santa Cruz Mountains. As of the 2020 census, the city population was 12,224. Principal access to the city is supplied by State Route 17 that connects San Jose and Santa Cruz. The city was incorporated in 1966.
