Philip Boswell
Philip John Boswell (born 23 July 1963) is a Scottish National Party (SNP) politician who served as Member of Parliament (MP) for Coatbridge, Chryston and Bellshill from 2015 to 2017. Early life and career Phil Boswell was born in Bellshill, raised in Coatbridge and worked there in the construction Industry and then for a brief time as a policeman in Kilmarnock. Boswell then found work internationally in the construction industry before transferring to the oil industry in Qatar, as a quantity surveyor and contracts engineer. He spent over 15 years in the oil and gas industry, with work taking him to Hong Kong, Malaysia, Egypt, USA, Qatar and the Falklands before returning to Scotland with BP in Aberdeen. He now works in the Asia-Pacific region as specialist Oil & Gas and Construction Contracts Manager, QS and Disputes Resolution expert. Joanna Cherry
Joanna Catherine Cherry (born 18 March 1966) is a Scottish lawyer and former politician who was the Member of Parliament (United Kingdom), Member of Parliament (MP) for Edinburgh South West (UK Parliament constituency), Edinburgh South West from 2015 United Kingdom general election, 2015 until 2024. A member of the Scottish National Party (SNP), she was the party's Shadow Home Secretary and Shadow Secretary of State for Justice in the House of Commons of the United Kingdom, House of Commons from 2015 to 2021. Dunfermline And West Fife (UK Parliament Constituency)
Dunfermline and West Fife was a county constituency represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. It was created for the 2005 general election from all of the old Dunfermline West and parts of the old Dunfermline East constituencies. Its last MP was Douglas Chapman of the Scottish National Party (SNP). The Dunfermline and West Fife by-election was held in early 2006, due to the death of the sitting MP, Rachel Squire. Willie Rennie of the Liberal Democrats was the surprise winner, by some 1,800 votes, in what was seen as a safe Labour seat. However, he lost the seat to Labour's Thomas Docherty at the 2010 general election. Chapman then won the seat in the SNP's Scottish landslide in the 2015 general election. Douglas Chapman (Scottish Politician)
Douglas Chapman (born 5 January 1955) is a Scottish National Party (SNP) politician. He served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Dunfermline and West Fife from the 2015 general election until he stood down at the 2024 general election. He served as the SNP's Small Business, Enterprise and Innovation spokesperson whilst in Parliament. Early life Chapman was born in Edinburgh and grew up in Livingston and West Calder. He attended West Calder High School and has lived in the Dunfermline area since 1990, serving as a councillor for Rosyth and North Queensferry ward on Fife Council for nine years before becoming an MP. East Kilbride, Strathaven And Lesmahagow (UK Parliament Constituency)
East Kilbride, Strathaven and Lesmahagow was a county constituency of the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom, which was first used in the general election of 2005. It replaced East Kilbride and some of Clydesdale, and it elected one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system of election. Further to the completion of the 2023 Periodic Review of Westminster constituencies, the seat was subject to boundary changes which included the loss of Lesmahagow. As a consequence, the relevant seat was renamed East Kilbride and Strathaven, first contested at the 2024 general election. Boundaries As created by the Fifth Review of the Boundary Commission for Scotland, the constituency covered part of the South Lanarkshire council area. Lisa Cameron
Lisa Cameron (born 8 April 1972) is a Scottish politician and former consultant clinical psychologist who served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for East Kilbride, Strathaven and Lesmahagow from winning the seat at the 2015 general election until standing down at the 2024 general election. First elected for the Scottish National Party (SNP), she was re-elected for that party in 2017 and 2019, before she crossed the floor to the Scottish Conservatives in October 2023. East Dunbartonshire was a county constituency of the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom (Westminster). It elected one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system of election. The seat is possibly best known for formerly being the constituency of Jo Swinson, the former Leader of the Liberal Democrats who was defeated at the 2019 general election. This version of the constituency was first used at the 2005 general election. There was also an earlier East Dunbartonshire constituency, from 1950 to 1983. Amy Callaghan
Amy Callaghan (born 21 May 1992) is a Scottish National Party (SNP) politician who served as the member of parliament (MP) for East Dunbartonshire from 2019 until 2024 when the seat was abolished and she came second in the newly established seat of Mid Dunbartonshire. She unseated the then Liberal Democrat leader, Jo Swinson, with a narrow majority of 149 votes or 0.3%, overturning her majority of 5,339 votes two years earlier. Kilmarnock And Loudoun (UK Parliament Constituency)
Kilmarnock and Loudoun is a county constituency of the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. It elects one Member of Parliament (MP), using the first-past-the-post voting system. It has been represented since 2024 by Lillian Jones of Labour. Boundaries The constituency consists of the northern and central areas of East Ayrshire and contains the town of Kilmarnock and the Irvine Valley. It does not share the same borders as the former Scottish Parliament constituency of the same name. Alan Brown (born 12 August 1970) is a Scottish National Party (SNP) politician who served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Kilmarnock and Loudoun from 2015 until 2024. Brown previously served as the SNP spokesperson for Energy and Transport in the House of Commons. Edinburgh North and Leith is a constituency of the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom (at Westminster), first used in the 1997 general election. It elects one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system of election and has been represented since 2024 by Tracy Gilbert of Scottish Labour.
