	Scottish National League (ice Hockey) The Scottish National League is an ice hockey league based in Scotland comprising of nine teams for the 2025/26 season. The league sits below the Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL) in the UK ice hockey structure alongside England's National Ice Hockey League (NIHL). History Following the demise of the British National League at the end of the 2004–05 season, the Fife Flyers and Dundee Stars transferred to the SNL, significantly raising the league's profile. Both teams have however since left the SNL and now compete in the highest tier of United Kingdom Ice Hockey, the Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL). Due to their transfer to the EIHL, both Dundee and Fife were then represented in the SNL by both Dundee Comets and Kirkcaldy Kestrels respectfully. 	Scottish National League (1932–1954) The Scottish National League was the first ice hockey league in Scotland. It was founded in 1932 by five teams from a single ice rink in Glasgow. The league gradually expanded to encompass teams from many areas of Scotland. It was suspended during the Second World War, but returned in 1946, and for the 1947/8 season was split into two divisions. These reunited the following season, and in 1954 the league merged with the English National League to form the British National League. 	Scottish National League (rugby League) The Scottish National League is an amateur men's rugby league competition and the first tier of domestic rugby league in Scotland. The league formed in 1997 under the name The Scottish Conference three years after the formalisation of the sport in Scotland with the founding of Scotland Rugby League. In 2007, the league was incorporated into the wider British rugby league system and renamed the RLC Scottish Regional forming one of an evental nine fifth tier leagues. In 2011, the Rugby League Conference was dissolved due to a wider restructuring of amateur rugby league in Great Britain. 	Scottish National League (rugby Union) The Scottish National League (currently named Tennents National League One for sponsorship reasons) is an amateur league competition for rugby union clubs in Scotland. It forms the 2nd tier of the Scottish League Championship. The league winner is automatically promoted to the top tier of Scottish league rugby (The Tennents Premiership). The bottom two clubs are relegated into National League Two, replaced by the top two teams in that league.
