Scott Thwaites
Scott Christopher Thwaites (born 12 February 1990) is a British cyclist, who currently rides for UCI ProTeam . He represented England in the 2014 Commonwealth Games road race and won the bronze medal. Career Thwaites was born in Burley in Wharfedale. NetApp–Endura (2013–16) He was named in the startlist for the 2016 Vuelta a España. Team Dimension Data (2017–18) In September 2016 confirmed that Thwaites would join them for 2017. In his first season with the team, he took a top 10 finish in Strade Bianche, and in June 2017, he was named in the startlist for the 2017 Tour de France, completing the race in 107th place. 2015 Le Samyn Des Dames
The 2015 Le Samyn des Dames was the fourth running of the women's Le Samyn, a women's bicycle race in Hainaut, Belgium. It was held on 4 March 2015 over a distance of starting in Quaregnon and finishing in Dour. It was rated by the UCI as a 1.2 category race. Race Due to the high speed in the beginning of the race, the bunch broke into several groups. The first group got an advantage of 25 seconds, but later it all came together. Within the last two laps of a circuit there were the first mountain sprints. The first sprint was won by Anna van der Breggen ahead of Chloe Hosking and Ellen van Dijk, of which Van der Breggen and Van Dijk were the two riders who broke away on a mountain in Omloop Het Nieuwsblad a few days earlier and won the race. Due to the mountain sprint the peloton broke in several groups. 2019 Tour De Yorkshire
The 2019 Tour de Yorkshire was a four-day cycling stage race held in Yorkshire over 2–5 May 2019. It was the fifth edition of the Tour de Yorkshire, organised by Welcome to Yorkshire and the Amaury Sport Organisation. The race was rated as a 2.HC event as part of the UCI Europe Tour. The race started in Doncaster on 2 May and finished in Leeds on the 5 May. It was broadcast on ITV. Route In December 2018, the stages were announced, coupled with names, and the final stage of Halifax to Leeds being named ''The Yorkshire Classic''. The Halifax to Leeds race was also the final stage in the 2018 Tour de Yorkshire and at the launch event, Sir Gary Verity revealed that this stage would be repeated as the final stage in each future iteration of the TdY, with a minor tweak or two. Le Samyn
Le Samyn is an annual single-day road bicycle race in Belgium, held usually in late February or early March. The event was created in 1968 as ''Grand Prix de Fayt-le-Franc'', named after the former municipality where it started and finished. In 1970 it was renamed ''Grand Prix José Samyn'' as a tribute to José Samyn, the race's first winner who died in a race accident in 1969. Johan Capiot holds the record with three wins. The British Cycling Premier Calendar Road Race Series is a season-long competition run by British Cycling. It comprises a series of road bicycle races for the country's top domestic road riders. Organisation and events In 2010 points were awarded for the first 20 places in each single day road race and for the top 20 overall in stage races as follows: 100, 85, 75, 66, 58, 51, 45, 39, 34, 29, 25, 21, 18, 15, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2. Tour Series
The Tour Series is an annual series of cycling criterium races held in the United Kingdom since 2009. It is televised by ITV4 in the UK. The competition emphasises team effort with individual wins deemed less important. The races are held over 1 hour of racing plus 5 laps. The team standings for each round are calculated by adding together the positions of the top three riders of each team (5 riders start for each team) and the team with the lowest score wins, and get 10 points for the overall championship. Each team gets 1 point less than the one in front of them, so second gets 9, third gets 8, and so on. In addition, there is the sprint competition. There are three sprints every race, and the top five riders are awarded points based on place: 1st, 5; 2nd, 4; 3rd, 3; 4th, 2 and 5th, 1.
