Scott Shaw (born September 4, 1951) is an American cartoonist, animator, and historian of comics. Among Shaw's comic-book work is Hanna-Barbera's ''The Flintstones'' (for Marvel Comics and Harvey Comics), '' Captain Carrot and His Amazing Zoo Crew'' (for DC Comics), and ''Simpsons Comics'' (for Bongo Comics). He was also the first artist for Archie Comics' ''Sonic the Hedgehog'' comic book series. Biography Shaw began selling his artwork while still in his teens after choosing a career as a cartoonist. Throughout the 1970s, he contributed numerous stories to various underground comix. He also found work as an inker and then as a writer and penciller for a line of Hanna-Barbera comics which were originally published by Marvel Comics. Underground Comix
Underground comix are small press or self-published comic books that are often socially relevant or satirical in nature. They differ from mainstream comics in depicting content forbidden to mainstream publications by the Comics Code Authority, including explicit drug use, sexuality, and violence. They were most popular in the United States in the late 1960s and 1970s, and in the United Kingdom in the 1960s and 1970s. John Franklin Candy (October 31, 1950 – March 4, 1994) was a Canadian actor and comedian who is best known for his work in Hollywood (film industry), Hollywood films. ''Camp Candy'' is an animated television series produced by DIC Animation City, Saban Entertainment and Worldvision Enterprises, in association with Frostbacks Productions, with comedian John Candy providing the voice for an animated version of himself. Thirteen new episodes ran in syndication in the 1992 season, distributed by Worldvision Enterprises, along with repeats of the previous episodes. ''The Completely Mental Misadventures of Ed Grimley'' is an American animated television series produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions and featuring Martin Short's fictional character Ed Grimley (with Short reprising his role as Grimley). Ken Penders
Kenneth W. Penders, II (born September 28, 1958) is an American comics artist and writer. Penders is known for his work on the Archie Comics series ''Sonic the Hedgehog'' and its ''Knuckles the Echidna'' spin-off, which he contributed to from 1993 to 2006, and subsequent lawsuits involving them. After leaving Archie, Penders filed for copyright over works he created for the comics, amounting to hundreds of original characters and concepts. Archie sued Penders to retain the rights, but ultimately lost them, and in 2013 rebooted the ''Sonic'' comic to remove many comic-original characters. Penders attempted to sue Sega and EA Games in 2011, for alleged plagiarism of his "Dark Legion" concept in the 2008 video game '' Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood'', but was dismissed.
