Scott Schutzman
Scott Tiler (Born Scott Schutzman) is an American actor, and acting coach best known for playing the young David "Noodles" Aaronson in Sergio Leone's ''Once Upon a Time in America'' (1984). He then starred in the film adaptation of the literary sequel to ''Freaky Friday'', '' A Billion for Boris / Billions for Boris''. He also has a turn as Bruce Chalmer in the 1987 teen comedy film ''Three O'Clock High'' and in the John Sayles directed movie '' City of Hope'' (1987). Tiler is also an acting coach and stage director. David "Noodles" Aaronson
David "Noodles" Aaronson is a fictional character who is the protagonist of the 1952 novel ''The Hoods'' by Harry Grey, and of the book's 1984 film adaptation, ''Once Upon a Time in America'', where he was portrayed by Robert De Niro. Character fictional life Early life According to the novel and film in which he appears, David "Noodles" Aaronson is born in either 1903 or 1904 into poverty in a Jewish enclave in Manhattan's Lower East Side. In 1918, when Noodles is age 14 or 15, he forms a gang with his friends Phillip "Cockeye" Stein, Patrick "Patsy" Goldberg and a young Italian boy named Dominic. Together the group "rolls" (robs) drunks in a bar run by local Irish-American mobster Bugsy, whose protection racket they help maintain. Phil Joanou (born November 20, 1961) is an American director of film, music videos, and television programs, known in part for his ongoing relationship to the band U2. Biography Joanou was born in La Cañada Flintridge, California, and began making short films on super-8 when he was 14 years old. Joanou studied at UCLA's theater department and then moved on to USC's cinema program. His award winning student film ''Last Chance Dance'' caught the eye of Steven Spielberg who hired him to direct two ''Amazing Stories'' episodes, "Santa '85" and "The Doll", when he was 23 years old. John Lithgow won a best actor Emmy Award for his role in "The Doll" and memorably said in his acceptance speech, "I'd like to thank the director, Phil Joanou -- remember that name." Alexander Grasshoff (December 10, 1928 – April 5, 2008) was an American documentary filmmaker and director who received three Oscar nominations. Along with fellow producer Robert Cohn, he is perhaps best known for writing and directing the documentary ''Young Americans'', which won an Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature during the 1969 ceremony. However, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences soon found out the film had been shown first in October 1967, thus making it ineligible for a 1968 award and the Oscar was revoked. (This marks the only time, as of 2021, where an Academy Award was first awarded and then revoked.)
