Scott Beason
Scott Beason (born October 13, 1969) is an American talk radio host and a Republican former member of the Alabama Senate, representing the 17th District from 2006 to 2014. He ran unsuccessfully in 2012 against incumbent Spencer Bachus for the GOP nomination for the U.S. House of Representatives in Alabama's 6th congressional district. He unsuccessfully sought the nomination to the same seat in 2014.The 17th Senate District currently comprises northern and western Jefferson County as well as a large portion of St. Clair County. From 1998 to 2006, Beason was a member of the Alabama House of Representatives. Early life, education, and business career Beason was born in Hartselle, Alabama. In 1991, he received a degree in geology from the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa. He was a geologist from 1993 to 1997, having been employed by Bondurant Environmental Consulting. Blount County is a county located in the U.S. state of Alabama. As of the 2020 census, the population was 59,134. Its county seat is Oneonta. Blount County is a moist county. The ''Montgomery Advertiser'' is a daily newspaper and news website located in Montgomery, Alabama. It was founded in 1829. History The newspaper began publication in 1829 as ''The Planter's Gazette.'' Its first editor was Moseley Baker. It became the ''Montgomery Advertiser'' in 1833. In 1903, Richard F. Hudson Sr., a young Alabama newspaperman, joined the staff of the ''Advertiser'' and rose through the ranks of the newspaper. Hudson was central to improving the financial situation of the newspaper, and by 1924 he owned 10% of its stock.
