Scott Hazzard Allan (born May 27, 1946) is an American former sailor. The sport of sailing involves a variety of competitive sailing formats that are sanctioned through various sailing federations and yacht clubs. Racing disciplines include matches within a fleet of sailing craft, between a pair thereof or among teams. Additionally, there are specialized competitions that include setting speed records. ICSA Coed Dinghy National Championship
ICSA Coed Dinghy National Championship is the oldest and most prestigious of the American Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association National Championships. Winners are awarded the Henry A. Morss Memorial Trophy. Second place team receives the ''Oxford University Yacht Club Trophy'' and third place team receives the ''Metropolitan Sailing League Trophy''. The first ten editions, from 1937 until 1946, were held at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT Sailing Pavilion) with Tech Dinghies, and since 1947 the sites of the championship have been rotated amongst the seven member conferences. Sailing At The 1972 Summer Olympics – Flying Dutchman
The Flying Dutchman was a sailing event on the Sailing at the 1972 Summer Olympics program in Kiel-Schilksee. Seven races were scheduled and completed. 60 sailors, on 29 boats, from 29 nation competed. Race schedule Due to the interruption of the Games on 6 September 1972, the race was postponed till 7 September. Then the race conditions were unsuitable. Heavy fog and poor wind conditions made it not possible to race until 8 September. Also the medal ceremony was also postponed until 8 September. Course area and course configuration For the Flying Dutchman course area B(ravo) was used. The location ''(54°30'30'’N, 10°13'00'’E)'' points to the center of the 2 nm radius circle. The distance between mark 1 and 3 was about 2nm. The 1972 Summer Olympics (), officially known as the Games of the XX Olympiad () and commonly known as Munich 1972 (german: München 1972), was an international multi-sport event held in Munich, West Germany, from 26 August to 11 September 1972. The event was overshadowed by the Munich massacre in the second week, in which eleven Israeli athletes and coaches and a West German police officer at Olympic village were killed by Palestinian Black September members. The motivation for the attack was the ongoing Palestinian-Israeli conflict. The 1972 Summer Olympics were the second Summer Olympics to be held in Germany, after the 1936 Games in Berlin, which had taken place under the Nazi regime, and the most recent Olympics to be held in the country.
