Scotland’s National Strategy For Economic Transformation
Cabinet Secretary for Finance and the Economy, Kate Forbes, revealed the Scottish Government's 10 year economic plan called National Strategy for Economic Transformation (NSET) on 1 March 2022. This is the first strategic economic work the Scottish National Party administration had done since the publication of The Sustainable Growth Commission report in 2018. The main difference in this report was the focus on developing Scotland's economy whilst being part of the United Kingdom rather than becoming independent. Ms Forbes wanted to "deliver the best economic performance possible for Scotland within the current constitutional constraints." She identified the need for action because of Scotland's poor productivity and comparable low-levels of business start-ups. She said Scotland lagged behind the OECD average in terms of productivity, and boosting this could raise wages by 10%. Cabinet Secretary For Finance And The Economy
The Cabinet Secretary for Finance and Local Government (), commonly referred to as the Finance Secretary, is a member of the Cabinet in the Scottish Government. The Cabinet Secretary has Ministerial responsibility for the Scottish Government's Finance Directorates. The post has been held by Shona Robison since March 2023, as Cabinet Secretary for Finance until 8 May 2024 when Local Government was added to her brief. Scottish National Investment Bank
The Scottish National Investment Bank is a Scottish state-owned investment bank, investment and national development bank, national development bank based in Edinburgh, Scotland. Although referred to as a bank, it does not do normal banking operations nor accepts deposits. The bank uses public money to fund commercial projects across Scotland with the hope that this seed capital will encourage further private investment, to help develop a fairer, more sustainable economy. £2 billion of taxpayers money is earmarked for the bank. The ''Daily Record'' is a Scottish national tabloid newspaper based in Glasgow. The newspaper is published Monday–Saturday and its website is updated on an hourly basis, seven days a week. Sir Thomas Blane Hunter (born 6 May 1961) is a Scottish businessman and philanthropist. Sports Division Hunter set up his first business after graduating from the University of Strathclyde as he was, in his own words, "unemployable". Nicola Sturgeon
Nicola Ferguson Sturgeon (born 19 July 1970) is a Scottish politician who served as First Minister of Scotland and Leader of the Scottish National Party (SNP) from 2014 to 2023. A skill is the learned or innate ability to act with determined results with good execution often within a given amount of time, energy, or both.
