Scotland Rugby League
The Scotland Rugby League is the Sport governing body, governing body for rugby league football in Scotland. It administers the Scottish National League (rugby league), Scottish National League and the Scotland national rugby league team. The body joined the International Rugby League as an observer upon creation in 1994 before being upgraded to affiliate in 2007 and later full member in 2011. In 2024, the body was downgraded to affiliate member due to noncompliance with the full membership criteria. 2007 All Golds Tour
The 2007 All Golds Tour was a tour by the New Zealand national rugby league team, the Kiwis, of Great Britain and France. The Kiwis played five test matches, winning one against France national rugby league team, France, but losing the game against Australia national rugby league team, Australia and the series against Great Britain national rugby league team, Great Britain 3–0, failing to win the Baskerville Shield. The 2007 All Golds tour marked the centenary of the inaugural rugby league tour – the 1907-1908 New Zealand rugby tour of Great Britain. New Zealand, then nicknamed "The All Golds" reverted back to this name for the tour in celebration of the anniversary. 2008 Rugby League World Cup
The 2008 Rugby League World Cup was the thirteenth World Cup for men’s rugby league national teams. It was held between 26 October and 22 November and was won by New Zealand, who defeated Australia 34–20 in the final in one of the greatest upsets in the sports history. Originally there was a plan to hold a World Cup in Australia in 2004, however the lack of competitiveness at the 2000 World Cup and rise of the Tri-Nations between Australia, New Zealand and Great Britain meant that plans for another World Cup were shelved. For the World Cup to regain some credibility, the number of teams was reduced to ten with Australia, England, France, Papua New Guinea and New Zealand automatically qualifying and a qualifying tournament to determine the other five teams. Wales National Rugby League Team
The Wales national rugby league team represents Wales in representative rugby league football matches. Currently the team is ranked 17th in the IRL World Rankings. The team was run under the auspices of the Rugby Football League, but an independent body, Wales Rugby League, now runs the team from Cardiff. Six Welsh players have been entered into the Rugby Football League Hall of Fame. As with other Welsh national sporting teams, Wales strip has been primarily red. However, in the World Cup campaign in 2000 they wore a shirt featuring the Welsh flag, adding a touch of green and white.
