Schuyler Shibley
Schuyler Shibley (19 March 1820 – 18 December 1890) was an Ontario businessman and political figure in Upper Canada. He represented Addington (federal electoral district), Addington in the House of Commons of Canada as a Liberal-Conservative member from 1872 to 1878. He was born in Portland, Ontario (township), Portland Township, Upper Canada in 1820. He studied at the Waterloo Academy near Kingston, Ontario, Kingston and settled on a farm at Murvale, Ontario, Murvale in Portland Township. He served as reeve for the township and later warden for Frontenac County, Ontario, Frontenac County. Shibley had an affair with Kate Davis of Lambton County, Ontario, Lambton County and they had a child together; they were both accused in the death of this child but both were later released: Shibley, because he had not been present when the child died, and Davis after she was acquitted of manslaughter. James Noxon Lapum (July 1819 – July 26, 1879) was a Canadian politician. Born in Erneston, Upper Canada (now Ontario), the son of Robert Lapum, he was a merchant and served as postmaster for Centreville for 20 years. In 1844, Lapum married Martha Fisk. He represented Frontenac in the Legislative Assembly of Lower Canada from 1834 to 1836 as a Reformer. Lambton County, Ontario
Lambton County is a county in Southwestern Ontario, Canada. It is bordered on the north by Lake Huron, which is drained by the St. Clair River, the county's western border and part of the Canada-United States border. To the south is Lake Saint Clair and Chatham-Kent. Lambton County's northeastern border follows the Ausable River and Parkhill Creek north until it reaches Lake Huron at the beach community of Grand Bend.
