Schriever is a census-designated place (CDP) in Terrebonne Parish, Louisiana, United States. The population was 6,711 in 2020. It is part of the Houma, Louisiana, Houma–Bayou Cane, Louisiana, Bayou Cane–Thibodaux, Louisiana, Thibodaux Houma-Bayou Cane-Thibodaux metropolitan area, metropolitan statistical area. The community was named for railroad official John George Schriever (1844–1898) during the 1870s opening of the New Orleans, Opelousas and Great Western Railroad line to Houma. Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 14.4 square miles (37.4 km), of which 14.4 square miles (37.2 km) is land and 0.1 square mile (0.2 km) (0.42%) is water. Schriever Space Force Base, previously Schriever Air Force Base, Falcon Air Force Base, and Falcon Air Force Station, is a base of the United States Space Force located approximately east of Peterson Space Force Base near Colorado Springs in El Paso County, Colorado, United States. It was originally called the Consolidated Space Operations Center (CSOC) during the development phase, and was renamed Falcon Air Force Station upon becoming operational.
