Scholastica (school)
Scholastica is a private English medium school in Dhaka, Bangladesh, offering pre-school to A level courses. It was founded in 1977 by businesswoman and former advisor to the government, Yasmeen Murshed. The school follows the Cambridge International Curriculum set by the Cambridge Assessment International Education for Grade 9 to 12 and offers the GCE O Level, GCE AS Level and the GCE A Level qualifications. It is prominently recognised as one of the elite schools of Bangladesh, boasting a strong alumni network. History Scholastica was founded in 1977 to meet the demands for schools having English as the medium of instruction, but emphasising equal proficiency in Bengali. Uttara Model Town
Uttara Model Town or simply Uttara ( ''romanised: Uttora'') is a neighbourhood of Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. The name derives from the Bengali word ''uttor'' () meaning "north". It lies on the road to Gazipur, and adjoins Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. History Planning In 1966, Dhaka Improvement Trust (DIT) planned to build a satellite town under ''North Satellite Town project'' in Dhaka District. Iresh Zaker
Iresh Zaker (; born 6 November 1976) is a Bangladeshi advertising executive, television and film actor and a musician. He is the managing director of Asiatic 360, a marketing and advertising company, owned and operated by his parents, actors Aly Zaker and Sara Zaker. Most of Iresh Zaker's work as an actor has been in television, but he has also played negative roles in several films. Wasfia Nazreen
Wasfia Nazreen () is a Bangladeshi mountaineer, activist, social worker and environmentalist. Nazreen is the first Bengali and Bangladeshi to scale K2, the world's second highest and most dangerous peak becoming one of the 40 women in history since 1954 to have successfully scaled K2. Tania Amir
Tania Amir is a Bangladeshi barrister and rights activist. Early life Amir was born on 27 September 1964. Her father is Barrister M Amir-ul Islam. She studied at the Holy Cross Girls School, United Nations International School, St Francis Xavier's Green Herald International School, and Scholastica. Model United Nations, also known as Model UN (MUN), is an educational simulation of the United Nations, which teaches students about diplomacy, international relations, global issues, and how the United Nations is run.
