Schneizlreuth
Schneizlreuth is a municipality in the district of Berchtesgadener Land in Bavaria in Germany. History In 1285 an estate in the area was called Schnaezenreut. This is the earliest the town's name can be traced. The municipality of Schneizlreuth was created on 1 July 1909 by merging the municipalities of Jettenberg (with the districts Oberjettenberg and Unterjettenberg) and Ristfeucht (including Schneizlreuth, then a hamlet). On 5 May 1945 the last battles of the World War II that were held in Bavaria took place in Schneizlreuth. On 1 January 1984 the northern, larger part of the unincorporated area Jette Forst incorporated into Schneizlreuth, adding an area of 2279.77 hectares. The smaller southern portion with 683.49 acres joined the neighboring village of Ramsau. On 1 January 2011, the eastern portion of Forest St. Zeno (966.50 hectares) incorporated into Schneizlreuth. Bally Prell
Bally Prell (born Agnes Pauline Prell; 14 September 1922 – 20 March 1982) was a German performer, humorous singer, and folk singer, who performed mainly in Bavarian language. Life Prell was the daughter of folk singer and composer Ludwig Prell on Leopold Street 77 in Schwabing, a district in the Bavarian capital of Munich, where she lived her entire life. As early as five years old, she performed at the Odeon hall in Munich and wowed the audience with her voice. Her voice was a low tenor/ baritone, and she sang some classical arias in that register. On 31 October 1953, she appeared for the first time in Munich's Platzl with her song, "Die Schönheitskönigin von Schneizlreuth" ("The Beauty Queen of Schneizlreuth"). The song used Prell's unusual vocal range and decidedly un-beauty queen-like appearance to caricature the emerging beauty craze. The program included the music composed by her father "Isarmärchen". Berchtesgadener Land ( Central Bavarian: ''Berchtsgoana Land'') is a ''Landkreis'' (district) in Bavaria, Germany. It is bounded by the district of Traunstein and by the state of Austria. History Middle ages and early modern era The southern alpine regions were part of the stem duchy of Bavaria from the early Middle Ages. The 11th and 12th centuries saw the founding of numerous mountain villages. One of these settlements was Berchtesgaden, which later assumed a more dominant role in the administrative district that now bears its name.
