Schladming Tauern

() are a subrange of the Austrian Central Alps within the Eastern Alps. Together with the Radstadt Tauern, the Rottenmann and Wölz Tauern and the Seckau Tauern the Schladming Tauern form the major range known as the Low Tauern. The mountains are located in Austria in the federal states of Salzburg (state), Salzburg and Styria. Its highest peak, at 2,862 m is the Hochgolling. Location The Schladming Tauern are located in the middle of the Low Tauern between the Sölk Pass in the east and the top of the Radstadt Tauern Pass, Tauern Pass in the west. The name comes from the town of Schladming in the Enns (river), Enns valley. Radstadt Tauern
The Radstadt Tauern () are a subrange of the Central Eastern Alps in Austria. Together with the Schladming Tauern, the Rottenmann and Wölz Tauern and the Seckau Tauern the Radstadt Tauern form the major range of mountains known as the Low Tauern. The mountains are found in the southeast of the Austrian state of Salzburg (state), Salzburg, between the upper reaches of the Enns (river), Enns and Mur (river), Mur rivers. Geography Location The Radstadt Tauern form the westernmost part of the Low Tauern range. They are bounded to the southwest by the High Tauern, to the northwest by the Salzburg St. Johann im Pongau District, Pongau region, and to the east by the Schladming Tauern. Their name is derived from the historic town of Radstadt in the Enns valley. Styria
Styria ( ; ; ; ) is an Austrian Federal states of Austria, state in the southeast of the country. With an area of approximately , Styria is Austria's second largest state, after Lower Austria. Hochgolling Von Sueden
The Hochgolling (2,862 m) is a mountain of the Eastern Alps, located on the border of Steiermark and Salzburg, Austria, near the ski resort of Schladming. It is the highest peak of the Lower Tauern range. A hiking rather than a climbing peak, the mountain is relatively low by alpine standards, but still towers over all of its neighbours. Its northern face is a 1,200 m high wall, while its other slopes are more gentle. A long ridge slopes south from the summit, dividing the Göriach Valley from the Lessach Valley. Planai
Planai is a ski area in central Austria, the main mountain in the Schladming area in Styria. It is one of four adjoining mountains, which includes Hauser Kaibling, Hochwurzen and Reiteralm (Styria), Reiteralm, connected under the name Schladminger 4-Berge-Schaukel. It is not regarded as a single mountain and all text from the official website cites the total amount of pistes. Planai was the host venue of the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 2013, 2013, held in early February. Schladming previously hosted alpine skiing's major biennial event in FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 1982, 1982, with the men's events at Planai and the women's at Haus im Ennstal. Hauser Kaibling
Hauser Kaibling is a ski area located within the Schladming-Dachstein ski area in the Ennstal Alps. Hauser Kaibling is part of the Schladminger 4-Berge-Schaukel, four connected mountains. The other three are Planai, Hochwurzen and Reiteralm (Styria), and they form the four highest mountains in Styria. The village of Haus im Ennstal is at the foot of Hauser Kaibling. The French horn (since the 1930s known simply as the horn in professional music circles) is a brass instrument made of tubing wrapped into a coil with a flared bell. The Kasereck, at , is one of the highest peaks of the Schladming Tauern and thus also the Lower Tauern. It is the most prominent summit on the crest that runs from the Hochgolling southwards and separates the valleys of Göriachtal in the west and Lessachtal in the east.
