Moynoe
Moynoe ( ga, Maigh nEo) is a civil parish in County Clare, Ireland. It is part of the Roman Catholic parish of Scarriff and Moynoe. Location Moynoe parish lies in the barony of Tulla Upper. It is northeast of Scariff. The parish is and covers . On the northern boundary Lough Atorick has a surface-elevation of above sea-level. Most of the parish, apart from a district of beside Scariff bay on Lough Derg, is in the Slieve-Baughta mountains. Settlements The parish was originally called Moyno Norbree. Moyno means the plain of the yew tree, but the meaning of Norbree is unknown. As of 1897 the ruin of the old church was in reasonably good condition. Near it a ruined arch was probably a gateway that led to Moynoe castle, the property of Edmond O’Grady. Further off is a holy well dedicated to Saint Mochunna, the patron saint of Feakle as well as of Moynoe. Tuamgraney (; archaically spelled ''Tomgraney, Tomgrenei''; ) is a village in eastern County Clare in the west of Ireland and a civil parish by the same name. Market houses (sometimes earlier called tholsels) are a notable feature of many Irish towns with varying styles of architecture, size and ornamentation. They are usually located at the centre of the town at which at one stage a market was held. Originally there were one, three, four or even five or more bays on the ground floor which formed a covered arcade to protect traders from the elements and allow access for carts, animals and produce. An upper floor was often used as a court house or ballroom while the cellar or basement was often used as a local gaol. Ornamentation consisted of a cupola, a clock or sometimes a dome or tower. Inis Cealtra
Inis Cealtra, also known in English as Inishcaltra or Holy Island, is an island off the western shore of Lough Derg in Ireland. Now uninhabited, it was once a monastic settlement. It has an Irish round tower, and the ruins of several small churches, as well as four high crosses and a holy well. Despite the lack of population, the cemetery on this island is still in use. Coffins and mourners are transported the short distance from County Clare in small boats. Boat trips can be taken from the harbour at Mountshannon. It is conserved by the East Clare Heritage Centre. Sarah McTernan (born 11 March 1994) is an Irish singer-songwriter from Scarriff, County Clare. She is known for taking third place in the fourth season of '' The Voice of Ireland'' in April 2015. She represented Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 with the song " 22". Early and personal life McTernan is an only child. After graduating in 2011, she took a pre-nursing course in Ennis, County Clare. She then went on to study music technology at Limerick Institute of Technology for several months. She took a break from education and continued to work as a retail employee in Penneys. She plays guitar, piano and tin whistle.
