A Scandinavian Venezuelan ( es, escandinavos-venezolanos) is a Venezuelan person with full or partial Scandinavian ancestry, or a Scandinavian-born person living in Venezuela. Scandinavian settlement in Venezuela is little-known, due to a lack of information about its colonization. Swedish colonization attempt in Esequibo During the 18th century, Swedes attempted to colonize the Esequibo region between the lower Orinoco and Barima rivers in Guyana's present-day Barima-Waini region. The Swedes, settled in the area since July 1732, were expelled in 1737 by forces led by Major Sergeant Carlos Francisco Francois Sucre y Pardo (grandfather of Venezuelan independence leader Antonio José de Sucre). Caracas (, ), officially Santiago de León de Caracas, abbreviated as CCS, is the capital and largest city of Venezuela, and the center of the Metropolitan Region of Caracas (or Greater Caracas). Barima-Waini (Region 1) is a region of Guyana. Venezuela claims the territory as part of Guayana Esequiba. The region is located in the northwest of the country and has a population of 26,941. It covers an area of . It borders the Atlantic Ocean to the north, the region of Pomeroon-Supenaam to the east, the region of Cuyuni-Mazaruni to the south and Venezuela to the west. Dalarna County
Dalarna County ( sv, Dalarnas län) is a county or '' län'' in central Sweden ( Svealand). It borders on the counties of Uppsala, Jämtland, Gävleborg, Västmanland, Örebro and Värmland. Kerkhoven ( ) is a city in Swift County, Minnesota, United States, located roughly west of the Twin Cities region of Minneapolis/ St. Paul along U.S. Route 12. The population was 759 as per the 2010 census. History Kerkhoven was platted in 1870, and named for a railroad promoter. A post office has been in operation at Kerkhoven since 1871. Táchira State ( es, Estado Táchira, ) is one of the 24 states of Venezuela. The state capital is San Cristóbal. Táchira State covers a total surface area of and as of the 2011 census, had a population of 1,168,908. At the end of the 19th century, Táchira State was where oil was discovered in Venezuela. Currently, its main economic revenues come from the production of coffee and pineapple. The cattle and agricultural activities play an important role in Táchira's economy. Christiansen Academy (also known as Academia Christiansen or C.A.) was a private boarding school that provided an American-style education from kindergarten through grade 12 in Rubio, Táchira, Venezuela.
