Gabriele Lavia
Gabriele Lavia (born 10 October 1942) is an Italian actor, film director and theatre director. Biography Lavia was born in Milan, Lombardy. Since 1970 he has had roles in nearly thirty films and television programs. He is known for his appearances in several horror films, including '' Beyond the Door'' (1974), Dario Argento's ''Deep Red'' (1975), ''Inferno'' (1980), and '' Sleepless'' (2001), and Pupi Avati's '' Zeder'' (1983). In Italy, Lavia has had a long career as a theatrical actor and director. He was the artistic co-director of the Teatro Eliseo of Rome (from 1980 to 1987), artistic director of the Teatro Stabile of Turin (from 1997 to the 2000) and artistic director of the Taormina Film Fest (in 1993). Monica Guerritore (5 January 1958 in Rome, Italy) is an Italian actress of cinema, theatre and television. Biography Born in Rome to a Neapolitan father and a Calabrian mother, after her debut at just sixteen years of age under the direction of Giorgio Strehler in ''The Cherry Orchard'' (however, she had her first small part in Vittorio De Sica's '' Una breve vacanza'', at the early age of 13), she tied herself romantically and artistically to film and theatre director Gabriele Lavia, acting in his theatrical performances mostly strong female characters like Jocasta, Lady Macbeth and Ophelia. Pina Cei (born Giuseppina Casini; 13 June 1904 – 1 February 2000) was an Italian stage, film and television actress. She appeared in more than thirty films from 1933 to 1995. Life and career The daughter of the stage actress Luisa Cei, she made her theatrical debut in 1922, in the company of Raffaele Niccoli. She later worked in several high-profile stage companies, including Emma Gramatica's and Ruggero Ruggeri's, until 1942, when she founded her own stage company. She made her film debut in 1933, in ''Villafranca'', in which she is credited as Pia Torriani (from her husband's surname). Her younger sister Dory was also an actress.
